The Amiga wasn't about flashy graphics and over the top system requirements, it was "play it out of the box" awesome.

That's what I loved Amiga's for.

A game doesn't need flashy gfx to be awesome.. I know... still many Amiga games have super good gfx.. like Elfmania and that game is not even AGA.....

BUT... 3D games me want to record... me want to show off the Amiga... yeye... havn't recorded than many yet though.... but like impressive games.. like those with lots of speech...too.............................................................

3D games like Duke don't show the Amiga off, they make it seem like every other PC clone out there

Yep, but that was a commercial native port that was optimised by hand, whereas the Duke Nukem port is a freeware kludge that has had little optimisation and thus doesn't work too well even on high spec Amigas. Not surprising really as the Amiga's capabilities are far better suited to point 'n' click adventures than 3D games.

Someone coming onto an Amiga forum is gonna say "WOW, How do I run Duke nukem as good on an amiga as on youtube"

Reply is either:

Get quite a powerful PC to emulate a game you could run natively on a 10 PC.

Or

Spend 100s on a upgraded Amiga.

Nice!
Have to agree TBH......can't really see the point of using a PC to make a longplay of a PC game running under Amiga emulation via a largely unoptimised patch

They don't make it look powerful at all.

They make it look like the sad Amiga followers are trying to sell it for something that it's not.

But my system CAN play Doom like your PC!

If i recall, the Amiga tomb raider port, was really a fake and it contained a virus. Long time ago i read a pos on amiga.org about it because some amiga fan make a question about it. The duke 3d exists, albeit very fishy.

hehe I found the archive. In it are many files and a readme explaining how to install tomb raider. I haven't tried it yet but is this some kind of virus?

How accurate that is I'm not sure, but I doubt it's worth the risk.

Yay! He can play a PSX game converted to PC in a PC emulator on the Amiga

Seriously... "because I can" might go very very wrong... like in this example.
