KickFlash vs EFlash and 1GB?

I would like to get either the KickFlash or the EFlash (2MB).

1) Which one is faster?
2) Can you really use 1GB on the kickflash using the clockport or is it never going to happen?

Thanks.

I had both.
I sold eFlash and kept 2 kickflashes. the kickflash software is BETTER and more easy. there is no speed concern, the flash is fast in both, there is no difference. also the kickflash has a clockport to add devices.
I think the 1GB is abandonned by now...
I recommend KickFlashOS4

Is the upgrade to v1.1 of the software for kickflash been realised so that you could load kickstart roms (such as 3.0? - currently it is limited to only the os3.5/3.9 rom updates or rom patches)? Or is this also not yet been done or going to be done?

Can either of them be able to execute a startup-sequence or commands located on themselves?

eflash has:
- 2MB
- alternate boot program selection
- claims to be able to boot off mass storage device off usb

I don't mind if the software is harder to use as long as it works. I suppose as you said, speed doesn't matter in this case as they are both very fast.

yes, with the new kickflash software u can load an 1.x/2.x rom and press a joystick button on boot to load that... kickflash can also boot from USB if you load the poseidon stack in it's rom. u need to load the poseidon stack in eflash rom too, it does not magically boot from usb...
download CoyoteFlash HERE and have a look at the readme...

from the webpage above:
The firmware now supports multiple Kickstart remapping. The remapping of 512KB Kickstarts works with the MapRom feature of the Cyberstorm MK1/MK2/MK3/PPC, A3640 and the BlizzardPPC boards. Additionally it supports Retro Remapping to make any Amiga start in Kickstart 1.3 mode when the joystick button is held during reset. This requires a 34.005 Kickstart ROM and uses Relokick's internal relocation table to rekick the system. This lets you disable the caches by pressing the left mousebutton during the Kickstart 1.3 floppy boot screen, which makes a lot of older programs compatible with faster systems.
Many more resident modules can now be installed at the same time, and many more filetypes are supported, such as the latest (non-public) ram-handler version 51.6. Other changes have been made to the hunk handling, AmigaOS 3.9 reset handler code, memory handling and the OpenOXYPPort support code.

@keropi

Thanks for that info! I had looked on Jens website in news section for updates but could not find it there.

Now I really see what you mean by saying the software of kickflash is better! But it would be even better if you could execute whatever you wanted to like a startup-sequence which neither of them seem to do.

on kickflash there is a list thingie where u add the executables (they must be special for boot-time, both need that) and the 3.9/3.5 romupdates are inserted automatically based on your amiga model (if u want them that is, and u can also choose what to add)...
