I'm still keen on getting a rotary joystick, maybe I could buy one from here and attempt modifying my HotRodSE

The Ikari Warriors octagonal rotary mechanism one is what I remember using in the arcades:

Heavy Barrel

Ikari Warriors

Midnight Resistence
hmm you hve a point with the 2 player thingy, both you and spiff

The slikstick fighter unit would be an option if I couldn't get a hotrod I guess... hmm those rotary controls are the bomb though!

Well after waiting almost a week now I've had to give up hope on the HotrodSE. Seems like they just don't make them anymore. The Hanaho site hasn't been updated for years and I've tried contacting them but the mails either bounce or go unanswered

Tried distributors in the US with no luck.. unless one pops up on fleabay...

I think I'll probably buy the X-Arcade 2 player as that pretty much resembles the Hotrod - if I don't like the feel of the buttons etc I can also mod it myself cheaply

From what I've heard the XA is either better or the same.
