I see also influence from MDK Not really serious, but during the intro, when the hero is not lightened enough and with his stiff hair, it reminded me of the helmet of the hero of MDK:
http://www.mobygames.com/game/mdk-2/...overId,153324/

Anyway, you are correct, it is really similar to Agony.

I tried and watched the credits (at 33:40). I might have missed something as they were quite long and in German (except for one sentence in English at 39:41 and another one at 40:45 and 3 lines at the end of the credits).

I have not noticed any reference to Agony, Art & Magic or anyone listed as involved in Agony.

They do thank (I think) Sid Meier and other famous game designers (+ a lot of people throughout the credits).
So I would believe they would have credited people involved with Agony at least for the influence if there really was an influence.

Also, they refer several times to the demo scene. I don't now much about Agony and Art & Magic background. Perhaps some of them were also involved in the demo scene or some people in the demo scene were impressed by Agony and did a few creations inspired by Agony, which later inspired the creators of this game?

I don't know if there are other sources, but it seems like it is available on UG for those who would like to try the game itself.

You missed the AMIGA version!! It was the best of them all!
I looked for it.. I saw no trace of it.
I searched for an Amiga version & was unable to locate it.

As a former console-only gamer, I find it strange that the following games weren't enhanced and ported to the Amiga(s)...

B.O.B. (for SNES and MD)

Lawnmower Man (the SNES-version), which features an excellent soundtrack by Allister Brimble

Dropzone

Outlander

Shadowrun (SNES)

Thanks for that!

I think Outlander was inspired by Overlander. Both games are certainly inspired by the Mad Max film series.

Mad Max references

I wish Core would have released Tomb Raider for the Amiga. It probably would have needed too much hardware though. But if the could do games like nightlong, TR technically should have been possible.

Dunno if it's been said but Doom for me. And I mean first as it's original platform, who knows what would have happened thereafter maybe all the cockups wouldn't have been so catastrophic and Amiga gamers might have been more inclined to invest in hardware to play more demanding games.

Mechwarrior. Not Ralph Reed's conversion of the tabletop game, but the Dynamix 3d 'mech sim.

I know the guy who coded Mechwarrior 2, and he said that M1 was considered for the Amiga but they wanted to target higher-end Amigas and the market just wasn't there.

It would have been nice if there´d been better versions of Chase H.Q or S.C.I. or Wing Commander for example.

You can watch it on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffVJD088iGQ For me it's slow version of Chaos Engine mixed with Cadaver. I like many small details but slowly walking fat warrior was not best choice.

Another was Super Sprint and I've only recently found out that this now exists for the Amiga! Going to try that one laters....

I'd like to had seen some NES and SNES games ported to the Amiga, i.e. Megaman and Super Metroid.

Another; Resident Evil (first one) seeing as backgrounds were all static.
