Savegames during play

Hi!
I'm just wondering how to save a game during play( like in Maniac Mansion). When I press F5 and push Save, no save game gets created (or does it?). How can I save the game?

i assume your playing it straight from the adf's then? well it would seem that they are write-protected.

i have a boxed original of this game! lemme go set it up and check the save thing for you

when you press F5 and select SAVE, down the bottom of the screen you will see a variety of letters with little buttons next to them, click on a button and you will hear a sound. you should then be returned to the game. press F5 and choose LOAD, once again you will see the letters down the bottom and the buttons. the button you pressed to SAVE will be highlighted, click it to load.
