Amiga Hall of Fame 1997 Nominations

Amiga Hall of Fame 1997 Nominations. For those people who are new to EAB I have put together a list of previous winners;

Previous Winners:
85/86: Defender of the Crown
87: Arkanoid
88: IK+
89: Elite
1980’s Winner was: IK+ (just a bit of fun that poll)

90: Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe
91: Turrican II
92: Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
93: Cannon Fodder
94: Sensible World of Soccer
95: Worms!
96: Slam Tilt

Again please be nice and keep you nominations to a MAXIMUM of 10 per person, although I don’t think many people will find that many to nominate. You can do an advanced search on HOL for games released in 1997 if you need a list or use the link below.

HOL 1997

BEWARE, re-releases and aga/cd32 versions of older games do not count as new games for 1997 and are therefore not eligible for entry. Unless they have been both altered by a large amount and you can convince the rest of us to allow it in. Watch out for the Civilization compilation, thats not allowed as the games were originally released before 1997.

I’ll let this run about a week or until it looks like it done, then I’ll create the poll for the vote. So off you go…

Not a lot here, so...

Quasar Wars
Tiny Troops
Er, that's it.

Strange, I thought Shadow Of The 3rd Moon was released in 1997? I would have voted for it, it's excellent.

1997 sure was a crappy year for games. I have nothing to submit.

It was released towards the end of '97:

http://www.nutts.demon.co.uk/rel1997.html

http://www.amigaflame.com/amipas97.htm

I've fixed the HOL entry to reflect this, so feel free to nominate the game for FWW's 1997 poll.

Oh, and my nominations for the the 1997 poll? Shadow of the Third Moon, Myst, The Big Red Adventure, Final Odyssey and Enemy.

Edit: Add OnEscapee to that list too!

I went through HOL for 97 releases

and heres the ones atleast I can comment on.

Blade

was a nice involving game... and for an ecs game it have quite some graphical depth! although a little linear compared to say some rpg's
like isharr or eob, it had something that i felt was lacking from hiemdal 2.

Final Oddesy

Yhis i felt was a little over looked at the time, (addmittedly chrono-trigger had absorbed my life at this point in time) its a classic in its
own right, it has elements of "into the eagles nest" combined with a feel
of guantlet and obviously some of Peter Spinaze flair! some great puzzles, if only this game had been released a year or two earlier!

Myst

(i hear you groan now...) but some never got to play it on the PC and although i was not one of them I felt click-boom did a very good conversion of the game for at the time a limmited graphical capability..
its a shame that 2 and 3 never got converted!

PD / Shareware Respects for 97!

Wingnuts

this is a game innitially didn`t click with me, but after a while I got used to the poly environment with the cartoonic overlay its quite a fun game, and if not a little tricky when gunning your oponent down (okay maybe an 060 made it a little to quick to paly) but its quite a polished game for a PD/Shareware title!

Zdzislav: Hero of the galaxy

This is quite an amusing game, if not a little frustrating, technically pushes the AGA a bit but with an 040/060 its ALMOST playable LOL. its a good chuckle, If the developer had a smidge of commercial backing this could well of been THE game for 97
