Right.

I have just uploaded (or still is rather) the intro from Captain Blood using Winuae's AVI recorder. But I will give Snagit a try.

Yes, WinUAE's built in output to AVI thingy. It's the best thing there is to record amiga games/demos to avi. We have a couple of tutorials in the FAQ section and in the Forums at www.recordedamigagames.org

If you need online help, join the RAG channel http://recordedamigagames.ath.cx/modules/xpjirc/ (irc.gamesurge.net / #RecordedAmigaGames)

Have you tried the PCEngine SuperCD-ROMē version of Shadow of the Beast?

Arguably the best version, much better collision detection, bigger sprite, animated FMV sequences between areas, new remixed CD Audio.

Ported by DMA Designs, the people behind Lemmings and more recently Grand Theft Auto.

There is also an FM Marty Towns version of Shadow of the Beast 1, but I dont think it works correctly under emulation, and I've never been able to find an ISO image with the music. I think it was almost a direct rip of the PCEngine version, but I could be wrong.

P.S. I've recently seen some 30-min YouTube video's, have they upped the limit?

Yeah, played that version. I still like the Amiga version better though.

I tried uploading a longer video the other day, didn't work. So for most people it seems the limit is still 10 minutes.

Well, I re-recorded Shadow of the Beast 1 as the one I had up was in such horrible quality.
The new one has MUCH better quality, however the framerate on Youtube isn't so great so it's a little choppy.
You *have* to select high quality, though.

I play much better in this one too (used a real Amiga joystick this time instead of the keys) -

indeed they are !

thank you for taking the time to record those games, they're an inspiration for lamers like me who can even get past the first levels, and proof that the game is actually playable. But thanks to your longplays I've improved my play and can proceed till mid levels !

Thanks !

Yup, better quality... too bad you didn't crop the movie though.........

This is how it is now:

This is how it could have been if you cropped it.

Always crop all movies (sorry, needs to be said)
