That last one is the most recent one and by far the one I had the most trouble with.. it's a sloppy port that runs 16.7% faster than it's supposed to. Add *horrible* collision detection and less health in the castle than in the Amiga version and you get one very frustrating game!
I really screwed up on the last level in that longplay as I totally forgot about the life drain objects and picked them all up.. it had been a while since the last time I played that level and I was very nervous so I forgot all about that.. didn't even realize I had done that until I rewatched the video
I got hit by many enemies too on that level. But I made it through at least

The Japanese port is far superior to the US one.. I read on Wikipedia that they had improved it and made it easier so I got curious and finished that one too and they were right.. it's a lot easier. It's one of the easiest versions of Beast 1 in fact. I considered recording that one too but it's so easy there's little point in that.

Oh and here's another longplay I made that's not Shadow of the Beast related -

Dragons Lair 3 (Amiga) -

by far the most interesting version is the amiga version, and then the genesis one... the snes has been mutilated, and looks too cartoonish...

I know about that site.. Shadow of the Beast 2 was up before I made mine, that's why I only use 3 health potions in mine so they would put that one up too

I've only submitted SoTB2 to that page though as I finished that one better than the one up already but there's little point in submitting my other longplays as they're pretty much the same as the ones up already.
And I don't think they want longplays for any other machines than the Amiga either.

That music on the Megadrive version is absolutely dire!! Its like they realised that to try and capture the sound of the Amiga version was a non starter..... so didn't even bother. Really Really horrible!

Omg I know what you mean. I played it in the emulator and I was hoping for Amiga music and graphics on the Genesis/Mega Drive. Not happening. I was severely let down.

I might do the C64 version later.. I seriously doubt it's harder than the Genesis US version in any case.

Well I made another longplay of Shadow of the Beast.. the Atari Lynx (handheld system) as was requested in this thread.

This version is probably the easiest of the Beast 1 ports.. I recorded it the fourth time I played the game (never played it before, it's that easy).

It's a very fun port though.. in some ways I think it's even better than the Amiga version. And it's pretty different too, it has more in common with the SNES version actually but it's very different from that one too.

There is an annoying framerate counter in the corner of the screen though.. I didn't think the program would record that
First time I used that program as FRAPS wouldn't record from that emulator.
It's not too annoying though, you get used to it.

Here are the clips (as usual in 3 parts due to Youtubes 10 min limit) -

Upload your amiga versions to recorded amiga games. We have no length limit at youtube... some of our movies is 4+ hours long.

We already have your version of SotB II.
