The wiki page has been updated to reflect the latest changes since a lot of people were downloading the previous version: http://wiki.abime.net/file_transfer/hombre

Everything any Amigan could need is at this board - I love it!! Was looking for replacement for PC2Amiga and its within Hombre - Paradise!

Does Paradise use a standard PC Laplink cable?

For serial links can I use a USB-COM null modem cable?

I think it does use a modified cable. There's a diagram of the cable in the docs/paradise folder in the hombre archive.

USB adapters work fine as long they provide full emulation (all signals). Look for ones with the prolific chipset. I use one myself.

Hope this helps

Hi Ppill

I have an amiga 500+ 1mb using kickstart 2.0 i think. The insert disc screen says 2.0 roms (37.175)

I am wanting to transfer adf files from my pc to the amiga so i can put them onto floppy discs that the amiga can read, but i'm very new at this and don't know what i need. I don't have a serial port on my pc, but do have usb and parallel ports, I also have a parallel to parallel lead to connect the two.

I have downloaded hombre and read the paradise docs thinking that is the best program for me, but do i need another lead? Will my parallel one not work?

Is there any way I can transfer these files easily as I'm not an expert with amigas like some of you guys are.

Many thanks for any help
Russbeer

Hi russbeer,

First of all you need an Amiga disk with hombre already on it... or the Workbench disks. Do you have any of those?

Hombre was designed to work with kickstart 1.3 and might have problems running on later revisions.

What OS is the PC using? Paradise works with Win98 and WinXP (you need a patch though).

If your PC has a floppy drive that might be the best option for now. It's pretty easy and just fine for moving a couple of ADF images.

The easiest way would be to ask here for someone in the area to send you a hombre disk.

http://eab.abime.net/forumdisplay.php?f=104 here's the introduction forum.

or try method C from this page...

I could write it out on a couple of Amiga floppies and send them to you for cost of postage, no problem.
