yeah , also got 2 brand new Joysticks (a Cruiser+a Quickshot)...but MAKE SURE that the external drives on eBay work coz most of the sellers wrote 'Untested' or 'Last time used it , was working so it should work' and stuff like that..u dont want to return a broken/damaged external floppy drive. t c

u r either brainwashed or didnt play any Amiga game on an Amiga for a LONG LONG TIME

its never the real deal ...

1-You cant connect ur fav Amiga Joystick/Gamepad to your Pc (even if u got the connector/adapter for it .. i think its not worth it coz it would cost u like 6-8 pounds and thats the price of ur fav Amiga Joystick new from eBay)

2-An emulator wouldnt give u the exact speed as a real Amiga

3-Most people (if not everyone) has to face some problems before running most games on the emulator (i couldnt run any games on my mac and before on my Win xp PC)

4-You need a FAST pc to run all amiga games (not everyone has that)

u will also miss the loading , the feel of the solid old joystick in your hand .. & tons of other things!!

Totally your oppinion SWOS !

Got a fast Notebook here together with a real Amiga - 3000D/Cyberstorm/CV64.
I never thought of using WinUAE for gaming or working under AmigaOS since it's not the feeling and not the compatibility there.

Using PPJoy and my old 4 Plr amiga adapter I can use all my old joysticks/pads

It's as near as damn it

Uhmm.. I think between winuae and winfellow most bases are covered here. A PC with WinUAE is MORE compatible out of the box than an Amiga 1200 (PC Runs more a500/a1200 games than the 1200).. Though once WHDLoad is added the 1200 wins hands down!

Not true.. For AGA this definately helps but generally isn't true!

I wont miss the loading, I do have a solid AMIGA joystick in my hands.. I just miss the actual "real feel" the Amiga offers.. The PROPER loading sounds, thje display (lets face it real amiga on a tv is far better than a pc!)

Don't get me wrong SWOS.. I am not pro-emu, but I am realistic. I much prefer using the real thing, but circumstances mean that using an emu is less hastle..

Unfortunately I don't have any Amigas anymore...

I used to have an Amiga 500 (with 512Mb expansion) about 16 years ago. It worked excellent for 2-3 years but then broke and my parents never got it fixed for us (I was 14-15 years old at the time)

Still have fond memories though

All I can say is thank God for WinUAE. It's enabled me to relive the good old days.

damn this thread has been going for a long time!!
i bought my a1200 about 3 years back having previously owned an a500+ since 1990 and then selling it on when the playstation came out. its sat in the loft for about a year, but i decided as couple of months ago to pull the old girl out after a nostalgic game on the new tvpad sensi and thinking how arse it was having to use the joypad, so out came the real thing, and much fun commenced, ive just upgraded her with a new 4gb hd and have procceeded to download every possible whdload game to fill up my hd. ive also got a 030 4mb viper accellerator. when i get a real job and stop being a student i want to buy a better accellerator and get a cd rom drive to play those new games

I am going to find out this weekend if i am going to come into posession of a fully kitted out B2000, but the terms and conditions from the boss (Wife) is that the A500/A530, and A1200 must go

But the 2000 has a Genlock, scan doubler, Picasso II Gfx, 1.44MB HD drive, tape backup, VHS backup, PD drive, 1MB chip, 8MB (8x 1MB PC ram), GVP HDD/Ram controller/68030/68882... oh the list goes on..

I so hope I get it.

I bought an A500 in 1990, sold it in 1993 and then bought an A1200 HD/40 which i expanded with an 030/50mhz Blizzard board with a 16 meg simm & a CD Drive. I still have my A1200, and i recently bought another A500 to relive the memories.

The Amiga is the best machine ive ever owned, although the A600 was one of the stupidest moves Commodore ever made!, plus it was damn ugly.
