I'm often amazed to see that some freaks use their Amiga to surf the internet via DSL, or to burn CD's, or even watch high quality movies.... Imagine - these machines were built long before people were thinking about Pentiums . Well, who needs Windows anyways?

I still use my old miggys:

I have two A1200 towers with 1230IV Blizzards in them!
both have 10gig drives, cd-roms.. ethernet cards etc!

I also use two pc's networked to DSL and both amiga towers are hooked into it!

and

I have 3 x a1200's in vanilla desktop case's
2 x cd32's
1 x 600
plus tons of spares, leads, mice, keyboards, motherboards etc..
I hoard amigas LOL

Due to my trusty old a1200 biting the dust in a fire I currently run the following (very unexciting) Amiga setup:

PAL A1200 completely standard (no HD!)
Running workbench 3.0
1084S Monitor (one of the newer ones)
Modified A1200 Power supply (300w)
Sony and Cumana external floppy drives
Amiga Technologies Mouse
Sega Master System Joypad
U.S Robotics V92 56k Faxmodem

Pretty boring, will have a HD in it soon as eyetech ship my buffered IDE interface

I've read all the people in this thread talking about the A600. I wondered why they were so cheap on eBay but surely they are better than an A500? I bought an A600 cos I liked the CD32 I got so much and wanted to play games like Settlers that are only on floppy disk(well, original copies anyway).
I think know that maybe it wasn't the best choice for my foray back into disk Amigas, but I didn't want an A500 and A1200s sell for £20 all the way up to £100 on eBay, discluding postage, so I couldn't afford one. And most AGA 1200 games came out on the CD32 anyway, even if they were quite rare (Theme park), whereas some older games never made it to CD32 and don't work on an A1200. I realsie they are boot disks to get the 1200 back to Kickstart 1.3, but at the time I thought I'd never get hold of one, altough I suspect people can make their own.

Hmmh.. Still using amigas you say? well here's my current amigahardware:

2 A500's (One for spare parts)

with OmniROM Kickstart switcher (Onboard KS1.2,1.3&3.1)
SupraRam 500RX with 2 megabytes memory
A RM550C 512k trapdoor memory expansion

1 A600 (HD was later installed)

With 1 Gigabyte 2.5" IBM-harddrive
Kickstart 3.1 (Used to be KS2.05 37-300)
1 Megabyte trapdoor memoryexpansion
(This machine originally didn't have anykind of HD,mouse or extra memory)

1 Amiga CD32
with competition Pro CD32 Joypad

I wish i could find these: An accelerator for my amigas, A500 AND/OR A600.. A570 CD, A590 HD and a decently priced A1200..
Oh, and a Philips CM8833-II would be nice..

Also i have lots of little trinkets like mice, joysticks, trackdisplay, a mouse/joystick switchbox and a 1084S-P monitor with some extra connectors added by me.. (SCART and S-Video)

+ around 400 disks for these machines

Edit: typos corrected and added the 1084S...

On eBay UK at the moment are two A590s, one will only post to the UK but the other auction is open to Europe I think. There are loads of A500s and A600s on eBay, and at the moment there is a Phillips Monitor but I'm not sure what model, it just says its for the Amiga and colour. There is no eBay for Finland but there is a list on the UK site homepage of all the global sites. You won't find many accelerators on eBay though.

Seems that no one owns or uses an A1000...except ME!!

Patiently waiting for a 2MB memory expansion, and as soon as I have that, it's as good as any A500, and it's PURE retro, much much more than any other Amiga model

I've spent hours cleaning it, and now it looks marvellous. And LOL, I even have three Kickstarts, so there won't be any NON-AGA game or program that doesn't work on my precioussss (Lord of the Rings 2 starts soon )! *sigh* I fell in love *sigh*

The two other A500's had to make way for the 1000 and are now sleeping in the basement, carefully wrapped .

This poll is unfair to all the h/w hoarders!

A500 in original box w/ all manuals, WB1.3 disks, mouse, modulator, PSU and 512KB in trapdoor, soon to get ATonce Vortex+ ;smug mode engaged...

A500+ w/ WB 2.04, +1MB in trapdoor, with GVP HD series II 52MB Seagate & 8MB FASTRAM, SCSI CDROM, 120MB and 80MB HD's on the SCSI chain; Audio Imager sampler, Citizen Swift 9 printer with colour option.

A4000 w/ 040/40 Cyberstorm MkII, 2MB CHIP 64MB FAST, Supra modem, Microvitec PAL monitor, hacked pair of PC speakers, Epson Stylus 200 inkjet (w/ colour potion) and when I workout how to use it.. a MM5000 5 octave kbd for OctaMED SoundStudio.

WinUAE and Cloanto Amiga FE on the PC's

And I still need more miggy h/w....

I love the A1000 Nazgūl, and I have 4 of them. I need to add more memory and hardrives to them though.

nope not yet Antiriad, the probs with the CPU board not the CPU (bugger, bugger bugger...)

Can't decide weather to get an AmigaOne or just upgrade the accelerator in the A4000 - if I could get a PPC one with no 68040 CPU on that'd be fine.

I know that feeling .... always need to collect more amiga h/w!!.. Arrrg ..

Nazgūl: you do what to your 500s!! Thats cruelty to amigas .. anyway .. I'm sorry but I think the 500 is the real deal, 1000 leans more to the big box side and the retro lacks in that line...

I think I just need a bigger apartment. And probably a more understanding girlfriend ("What?? Yet another computer??" (to her, all computers are the same))! I'd love to have every Amiga model ever produced set up in line, one after another, each showing their unique start screens...

naw I don't want all the Amigas, just one.

I saw it in an old mag, this bunch in the USA had produced a transpeuter accelerator for the amiga and had a CPU bus they attached to. The demo model had about 16 CPU's and rendered VistaPro in real time...

Nice!
