Obviously, PJ.

I bought my A1200+ 030@50+1GB HD + lots of other goodies, for 175 dollars.

Accelerated Amigas are NOT that expensive. But if you buy the accelerator alone, it gets expensive!

I guess that's a reasonable price to pay. I assume that's second hand? E-Bay? These sort of deals weren't (obviously) available when I was using the Amiga as a 'first' machine, so it's difficult to get back into the hardware and know what's what, and what to expect from an Amiga xxxx with xxx card @ xx (etc...)

xxx anyone?

I must admit it's only recently that I have plugged in my Amiga 500+ and started using it.

AND......I'm enjoying every minute of it

Second hand, but NOT eBay. I bought it locally from a guy I know. This setup goes on ebay for much more, I presume. It's in almost new condition, a purchse I will NEVER regret!

Of course, I am talking about getting an accelerated Amiga today. Back in the day I couldn't afford it, that's why I have it NOW

You should try and score one around your area PJ!

Ok, I need a report.
Is this all inside a normal A600 case? Does it have an HD? I would like to hear about the stability of this thing.

I say it heats up too much, and that it would blow up after two hours of operation :P

Oops I meant to say 40Mhz, not 50Mhz. And yes it does have a hard drive in the original case. We shall see after I give it a grueling workout rendering some Lightwave or Imagine stuff I have. That should work the CPU and FPU quite a bit. Got a Radio Shack thermometer with flexible probe I might be able to coax in the expansion bay to take temps.

Excellent. I'm waiting for the report.

May I suggest you cooking an egg in the A600's surface?

Perhaps you aren't aware of my makeshift keyboard tray with fans blowing air to the underside of my A500 back in the days. I should patent it

Eek A1200

I admit that I haven't used my A1200 in years so it's packed away in my room. The mouse is busted and I don't have a working joystick either. Anyway, it'd break down eventually and I'm not a hardware guy so I couldn't fix it. It's just more convenient to play around with WinUAE even though it doesn't feel the same as using the real thing.

Two A500's. And desperately looking for a A1000 in very good condition.

And I should get a A1200 soon. Would like to own all Amigas ever released except for the A600 which is crap in my eyes...

Ah, the words of he who does not know

Almost everybody who disses the A600 is because they never owned one . The real stinker in the Amiga family is the A500+!

Let me point it this way - it would be the last Amiga I'd buy. Oh, and yes, the A500+ is crap, too This one I'd NEVER buy!

Hey I bought an A600...well maybe I just did that after I bought my A500 and my A1200. And maybe I just bought it to get the monitor which was sold with it, but I bought an A600 regardless. Hmm wonder where that one ended up anyway, the closet maybe?
