They had to reuse the unsold C64 and spectrum boxes no doubt.

No, not the only one - I have quite a number of games that came in these VHS-style (soft plastic) boxes too (although box sizes/thicknesses differ)

All the ECP-release titles (eg. Atzex, Alert, Cortex, Fusion, Bards Tale, Chessmaster 2000, Thrill of Winning compilations, FA/18 Interceptor, Voyager-1, Beyond the Ice Palace)
In 80 Days Around the World
Calculation
Seahaven Towers
Accordion
i'm sure there are more, but it isn't easy for me to check...

I also have a couple of other (non-game) items in these sort of boxes:
Contact (application)
my A500 RAM expansion card

A few more in hard (non clear plastic boxes) These boxes are more like the newer VHS boxes, although about the size of a double CD case
Backlash
Future Bike Sim
Final Mission
Powerstyx

My DKB cobra also came in a hard VHS box

Interesting info.
HOL need´s a new search feature to find the
different box styles.

hmm.. my speccy boxes (some of the same games) were different sizes, and although i do remember at least one game having a sticker over the "for model: " bit, it certainly wasnt on all of them.

i would trawl through the boxes in the loft for a look, but i might end up pulling everythng out!

I don't think this is practical, and frankly there are far more useful things than this that we could be recording in HOL.

@NOB
Börsenfieber by FALKEN came in a VHS-style box (I think not exactly the size of VHS, but you know the kind of box I'm talking about

@Galaxy
Indeed!!

- Type of copy protection (manual (code sheet / code wheel), manual (codes spread all over the pages - "FLASHBACK" [ger]), manual + disk, RNC/Copylock, protected / uncopyable track, real long track, etc.)
- DRIVES SUPPORTED!
(Lots of folks assume a 1989 game would usually support DF0 only and that's it, but that's rubbish. A lot do support DF1 - but you have to know about it )

OK, end of OT.
