4-player adapter has no buttons in WinUAE

As the topic suggests, I cannot get my Amiga 4-player adapter (got it with a boxed copy of DynaBlaster I won on eBay) to show any buttons if I set PPJoy for a single button whenever I fire up WinUAE. If I reset it to the default two-button config (which is useless as there's no traces to solder for a second button on either port), then it works. Is there any reason why this happens at all, Toni? Is there a problem with the drivers or my parallel port?

Here ya go, Toni. The requested log files. I also noticed that it's not just WinUAE the "custom mapping" problem occurs in. It happened in a lot of other emulators as well.

Does Windows gameport control panel application show buttons in both cases?

Non-working:

LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 1 (GUID=A602F890-00007652-000011DB-8001444553540000):
00 000 'X Axis' (-99,0)
04 004 'Y Axis' (-98,0)
LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 2 (GUID=A010AAF0-0000765B-000011DB-8001444553540000):
00 000 'X Axis' (-99,0)
04 004 'Y Axis' (-98,0)

No wonder it does not work, no buttons reported by driver.. WinUAE can't really do anything in this case.

Working:

LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 1 (GUID=A602F890-00007652-000011DB-8001444553540000):
00 000 'X Axis' (-99,0)
04 004 'Y Axis' (-98,0)
LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 1 (GUID=A602F890-00007652-000011DB-8001444553540000):
30 048 'Button 0' (48,-1)
31 049 'Button 1' (49,-1)
LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 2 (GUID=A010AAF0-0000765B-000011DB-8001444553540000):
00 000 'X Axis' (-99,0)
04 004 'Y Axis' (-98,0)
LPT1: Amiga 4 Player Joystick 2 (GUID=A010AAF0-0000765B-000011DB-8001444553540000):
30 048 'Button 0' (48,-1)
31 049 'Button 1' (49,-1)

Two buttons reported. This looks ok.

Well, there is one button showing up in the actual Joystick control panel. That's the odd part.

Perhaps it defaults to one button if no buttons detected.

I guess the driver reports button presses properly but forgets to report correct button information..

I'll implement workaround that adds single button if no buttons reported.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but I have a question

Button 2 on Joystick 3 and 4 should go to which parallel port pin on an real Amiga?

I don't think there are any adapters that support second button, not enough IO pins in parallel port (8+3 if I remember correctly, 8x data pins, pout, busy and sel, need one IO pin more..)
