@mr A500:
Thanks for mentioning babeanoid. You are right, it totally rocks!
It runs silky smooth in Winuae with full details, when I set the cpu timing to adjustable and the slider all the way towards "CPU". So it behaves like airtaxi. I bet all amos games can be sped up immensely like that.

I know what you mean,

I remember (on real A1200) I used to have to turn off extra memory and just use chip when playing some amos games, to slow them down, and how "Gorf" by towerbyte worked perfect with the fastmem but was all jerky without it

are all amos games like this ? or is it todo with how they are programmed ?

The best ones were on the C64: Krakout and Traz.
Traz was especially good because of the multiple bats.

Deffo Arkanoid - Revenge of Doh!

..... where's Jinks? Thought that was a reasonable bat and ball game.

The original Arkanoid is it for me, I still remember the first time I saw the arcade machine.

Other one I loved was Crack http://hol.abime.net/3108 in it's 80's rainbow copper glory.

Later on I played a lot of Poing during downloads.. ;-)

Still, I voted Arkanoid. Not the flashiest but it was "the original" for me, even though it itself was a clone.

Why can't I vote for my favourite "Wet Beaver game"

But I prefer using my real pong machines. I love to collect those old machines....

How can megaball win over poing? no way!
Poing is, like, a hundred times more creative and more fun!

Haven't played all of those, but for me it was between Megaball and Poing, and Poing won Like rsn said, its much more creative - the side angle, the force field concept, the falling back and 'catching' the ball - I really liked all of that. I even wrote a crappy clone of it in (PC) Blitz Basic a while ago...

Yep. Krakout is my favorite breakout clone. Awesome playabilty and a killer soundtrack by Ben Daglish.

Had to vote Amegas because I absolutely love the music on that game.

Which reminds me, no one replied to my thread in asking for help with the Red Sector intro which uses this tune
