And to think my Apollo 040 alone, about 18 months ago, cost 76.75. Think you've done okay with that one

Well I gave away

a12oo rev 1d4 (had no timing issues)
Apollo o4o/25 + 16mb
That IDE thing that allowed a 4way buffered interface (the decent one that allowed faster access, name escapes me right now)
4.3gb and 500mb HD's
CDRom & CDRW
Over 1000 disks
Games and boxed software
about 600 magazines
A HP Printer
56k modem

more on top (Can't quite remember)

Bit of a shitter that I gave it away and didn't sell it or better keep it, though I have images of all the HD partitions

I got this from ebay last week fro 10, thought nothing of it. Ive just opened the trapdoor underneath and there is some sort of card stuck in there. Its got 4 banks of SIMM stuck in so im guessing its some sort of RAM upgrade. What sort of price would that be?

Hey guys.

Worst: Selling my 2Mb A600 and monitor with about 30 boxed games and 4 joysticks for 60 ten years ago

Best(ish): Buying my friends A1200 with games and a couple of Joysticks for 40 seven years ago.

Only sold the A600 so I could put the money towards a 1.25Gb HD for my PeeCee... how times have changed eh?

Happy

Maybe not the best deal ever but last night I changed a fully working A3000 desktop with extra Micronik tower+7 slots busboard and some Zorro cards and brandnew/old stock scsi rewriter and some 9 Gb scsi drives for a working Efika board with Radeon 9200 and tthe promise to help me install it into some box/tower/whatever and the knowledge of how to use Linux
I do know the actual value of an A3000 D and I did buy the tower for 70 Euro including shipping (no A3000 motherboard inside, just the tower) and I do know how much a 2 Mb Ram card and Evolution scsi card and MultiFaceCard3 and Vlab V1.0 and other things may cost, and I know very well that the actual value of an Efika is much lower but on the other hand I look at this clubmember with a lot of respect, being a Mac + Amiga user, lotsa knowledge of networking and being an admin on AmiWeb ... so from that point of view I don't mind at all. Not everything has to be based on profit, does it ??

Best: I got a 2000/Toaster, a 3000, all the spare parts & manuals when the store where I worked died.... Of course, that was mixed - I was out of a job.

Somewhat later I got a 2000/Genlock and a 1000 free from one of our old customers.

Worst: I had to sell the 3000 and Miracle Piano System to pay the rent.

Just done what I think is my best miggy deal..

10 whole pounds for an A500, external floppy, Power Computing 1.5mb ram board, Kickstart switcher, 150 games, 2 joysticks and a partridge in a peartree

So chuffed as I was counting down the minutes and no one else bothered

Worst:

My 1200 w/Blizard 1240 (no tower case - raised up on polystyrene feet for adequate '040 fan clearance, and the top of the case didn't go on properly because of the 3.5" IDE disk ) running Debian potato was at work being an m68k build machine for the Debian Project....

The senile managing director *threw it away* because it was in the corner of the room with some old PS/2 keyboards - he saw my lovely miggy as 'an old broken keyboard'

Cunt of a man, at least he was forcibly ejected from the company soon after for other reasons.

Best:

I still think 400 for the A1200 back in 1992 was still the best deal on a home computer ever

best deal.... I can't remember all the details of what I got but I got a whole lot of stuff:

An A500 with an external hd plus an A1200 with some sort of accelleator as well as an hd plus some extra drives, lot's of disks, a few mice and joysticks and a couple of prof amiga books... I paid the amazing sum of DKK 500 for all of that (less than 50!!), this was in 1998 or so.... alas some years later I sold it all, can't even remember at what price, but I'm sure I got more for it than I paid.

Amiga 1000

Best Deal

There was an Amiga 1000 advertised (can't remember where approx 1993-94). Rang up and said I was interested. Cost me 50 for an Amiga 1000 with 512KB ram.It was missing the front but I still brought it and I was hooked.Upgraded the machine with a Spirit 1.5MB ram board and I purchased a PC sidecar for it.3-4 Years later it failed.

Purchased an Amiga 2000 between 1998-2000 for approx 5 with no keyboard.left it ontop of a cupboard untill 2005. It had a PC card in it.This is my only big box amiga I have left I have since 2005 purcahsed a Fusion forty (from the US) and a ICD scsi card (UK) with 32MB of memory, installed 1GB HDand a SCSI CDrom and upgraded the Kickstart from 2.04 to 3.1 roms and also had New rom burned for the fusion forty so Kickstart 3.1 would reconize it.Would never sell this :-).(reason I would never get my money back and also I have had many hours trying to get it to work correctly) :-)

Purchased an Amiga 4000 030 for 200 in approx 1996-7.Upgraded it to the full 18MB ram and put a 1GB HD in it and a Goldstar CDrom which didnt stick out the front.

Worst Deal

Sold the A4000 030 in 1989 for 230 stupid mistake should of never sold it.
Deciding to try and turn a standard Amiga 2000 into a great spec Amiga 2000 should of just brough a Amiga 4000.
