BEST deal ever was Moonstone, Boxed, Mint for £1 (Sold later for £60)

WORST: A2000 for £60! What was I thinking?

Later profited from it though on EbaY due to stupid bidding

FAVOURITE deal for £90 I got: (2006)

A1200D with FPU/RAM addon (Boxed mint with polys/bags/games) (Sold on EbaY for £35)

A1200T with Apollo 040, busboard, 2 harddrives, cdrom, idefix buffer (with registered idefix97) etc

Big box full of other gubbins PSUs etc (Sold some on EbaY for about £15)

So I kind of got my A1200T for £40 ...... technically

My worst amiga deal/purchase was a bloody power adaptor from eytech to supply power to the ppc fan connector. £15 as i recall !!!! and all it is is a psu molex to a cut in half floppy connector with some pins pushed in for the fan to connect too. oh and knotted around a ferrite core. It helped for a little while, but supplying power this way actually kileld the ability for the card to power the fan on it own. and once i replaced the psu to mobo leads that came with power tower, i had a bright power led and never needed to supply power to ppc anyway. Ill regret that purchase forever

Best Deal: two A2000, one OpalVision board, two G-Force 040s one with a Guru rom and 32meg GVP sim the other with 4 meg GVP sim, one Personal Amimation Recorder, GVP DSS8+, Chinnon FB357A and a lot of software all for $200.00

Best Free Deal: five A500's with three 1 meg boards, A2000 030, A2500 030, A1200 030, A4000T MKII 060, two NICs, two rtg cards, toaster, Flicker Fixer, A2330, 520 video adapter, a new in box A2000 keyboard, zip drive, squrial scsi, several external cd drives, external hard drives, various switch boxes, keyboards, mice, adapters, a box of cables, a lot of software and books.

Worst deal: #1 Having my A3000 go into a coma (green screen) paying to have it fixed. I had the Agnes socket replaced due to it being cracked the guy did a nice job at replacing the socket but it still did not work. I removed all socketed ram and I still get a green screen. I now think that it is one of the solder on ram chips although none get hot. I hope one day to have another A3000 or get my current one fixed.
#2 Buying ten 2.1 Seagate Baracuda hard drives off of Ebay listed as untested. Eight of them wouldn't spin up and two the heads would just knock. Luckly I didn't pay much for them and got ten nice anti static zip lock bags out of the deal.

I went to help someone with a broadband problem today and I saw they had an Amiga 1500 in the spare room. I asked about it and they let me have it for £20 including a Philips CM883-II monitor

The monitor was wrecked, so I tossed it. But the A1500 works great and it turned out it had a SCSI harddisk and 4mb of fastram inside

Worst Amiga deal: Getting rid of my A1200/030.

I want another Amiga, despite the lack of space.

the best deal i had was...

in a local computer shop that was mainly a PC reseller they must have received some amiga 1200s by mistake...

... cos i straight swapped an A500 with half meg fast ram upgrade and 1 external drive plus one of those metal cases that went over the top of the A500 for you to put your screen on...

for a spanking brand new A1200...

my how i laughed... for about 3 weeks... then i got burgled...

2 months later i waited for the insurance to pay out.. i went straight and bought another one!

Get a CD32, they are the most space saving of all Amiga's (200+ WHDload games on one CD?)

Best Deal... Yesterday, I won an Amiga A1200 on Fleabay for £10 - what a bargain !!! It has no mouse or software, but is working.

I always wanted an A1200 but couldn't afford one back then, my 2Mb A600 with its 40Mb hard drive (!) was as much as I could afford...I swapped an A500+ for the A600, as I thought it was a neater design and the IDE port was definitely an improvement.

Worst deal... Selling my A600 when I needed the money as the kids were growing up, I had shedloads of floppies, an Oki Microline 391 dot matrix printer as well, I let it all go for £100...

So... I've got an A600 I paid £20 for and an A1200 for a tenner, I can see some serious upgrade project action going on this summer....

Worst
I had an Amiga 1200 with 1.4GB HD, Blizzard accelerator card with FPU and 4MB RAM, external HD and hundreds of disks. The Blizzard card was faulty and the internal floppy was dead (dust?) so I gave it all away to a local computer shop. I had to really as I had no space for it but I bitterly regret it especially because the HD had all my source code

Best
No such luck, never had a best deal - anyone want to correct this and give me an Amiga to play with?

Best Deal

Recently picking up a slightly yellowed boxed A500+ with several boxes of games, 2 quickshot joysticks, ones the weird one that looks like a trackball, early version! couple of boxes of magazines, all manuals and disks, 1mb expansion in slot, all free on the way to work via freecycle! saved it from the tip! few weeks later won a boxed Amiga 1200 Desktop dynamite on ebay for £12.75, got said amiga, White! even had a hd cradle, with all manuals, disks including 2 sets of shrinkwrapped workbench 3.0 disks?! and more disks, just missing the mouse

Worst Deal

Buying a brand new A1200 Desktop dynamite in 1993, getting it home, opening box, noticing no shrinkwrap on disks, disks looking battered, testing disks, lots of errors and some disks refusing to boot, dad and i realised it wasnt quite right, took it back.... turns out they had given us a customer return! Doh! At least we got a replacement brand spanking new one in return but alas a year later.....

Having to trade in our beloved Amiga 1200 in 1994 for one of those new fangled 486 pc gadgets! still wonder where the 1200 is today! lol

Best and Worst deal I ever did was buy just the Picasso IV card, no addons, as I thought I could get those in about 6 months when I had saved more.... and then Villagtronic went bust, and by the time I knew about it the cards had all sold out ...RATS! Still looking for a concierto card too.
