Question for those who said Calliber 50:

For some reason I'm unable to controll character in this game. Did you have to do something special in controller settings to make this game work?

(Now that I mentioned it, couple other simillar games don't work either)

That would have been me

This game is one that had a "swivel" joystick on the arcades (like Down Town, Heavy Barrel, Ikari Warriors series, Midnight Resistance, Time Soldiers etc). It's a bit hard to play without one though.

As I've mentioned in other threads I have a HotRod SE http://www.hanaho.com/Products/HotRodJoystick.php. I usually map these buttons which make these types games playable (going top / bottom, left / right):

1 2 3
4 5 6

Button 1 = n/a
Button 2 = Grenade
Button 3 = n/a
Button 4
= Left rotate

Button 5 = Shoot
Button 6 = Right rotate

Nice joystick.

I have PS2 arcade joystick that I connect trough USB converter to my PC. But mostly I play just by using my PS2-look like game pad. (Logitech Dual Action pad with 2 analogue controlls)

Will try today later to setup left and right rotate and different controll options.

BTW, got Japanese genesis rom, will try that also today.

Thanks!

IMHO it's the essential accessory for "true" arcade heads

You have to calibrate the 'lightgun' using the game's internal test menu.
For the Namco games you mentioned, check the FAQ.

As soon as you know the following it's easy to figure out the rest.

F2 enters service mode, alternatively see dip switch menu (press TAB while game is running)
9 triggers the service coin input
F3 resets the game

Use game controls to navigate.

Here: www.mameworld.net/maws

A very handy MAWS search plug-in for Firefox can be found at the bottom right of the front page.

You can use the mouse to rotate him and then set up PC FPS style WASD keys to control him. Map shooting to your left mouse button and grenades to the right.

Make sure mouse input is enabled.
