I must be unlucky e-mailed an order, this is the third day with no reply or someone at the phone. Like, hello, anyone there?

Edit: I hesitated to use the voicemail. Well apparently that's the best way, left a message and less than an hour later I got an e-mail response! No problemo

I'm back into using real Amigas again (still love Winuaex) and have bought a ton of stuff from here.Iv'e been stung on a number of occasions in the past (going back a little bit mind)with getting computer bits and so it's fantastic that such a reliable and fast service exists like Amigakit.

While i'm here , can anyone here recommend what voltage PSU i need for powering a hardrive and dvd drive for my standard Amiga (not tower) , as there seem to be lots of options on Amigakit.Drives are just pc ones.My current solution is just plain daft as i am using my xbox to power them and it's not very neat.

Couldn't agree more...

The service you get from amigakit.com is top notch.

I ordered my Catweasel Mk.IV from them at 2 o'clock on a Friday afternoon, it dropped through my letterbox the next morning!

Yep, you can't fault the delivery speed. I ordered some 3.1 Roms from there and they turned up pretty fast. And so did the CatWeasel Mk4 that I ordered this week.

So far though I've been less than impressed with the support service - I wait to stand corrected though as I've heard good things about them from others.

AmigaKit is cool, ordered lots o' gear off them. Had an FPU and an A1200 cover arrive this morning in fact (ordered late on Wednesday).

One of the most, if not THE most important company around as far as the Amiga goes in my opinion, way more important than Amiga Inc. or Hyperion or anyone like that.

i went to see mathew at amigakit a few weeks ago,
and if you saw the amount o`ve amiga gear that he has got to sort out, plus orders to post and emails to answer plus repairs plus developing his software etc etc.
i am surprised that he manages to get home at night.

so if your waiting for a reply, you will get one

AmigaKit.com - A great place

It's been said before, but I'll say it again anyway...

amigakit.com is great! They always have what you want and deal with special orders quickly and efficiently.

I have just paid for a nice micronik ZIII busboard (which I got a discount on due to a small bit of damage to one slot (which is still functional)), some kickstart ROMs and a couple of other little bits.

A pleasant transcation and I'll keep going back again and again to get parts for all my amiga needs

I will be putting up big linking banners when I get my amiga site up within the next week

Yeh, this has happened to me a few times - even when I've gone out of my way to make sure any 'duties' (gov't sanctioned robbery) have been paid.
Complain?
'You want it? Cough up or it goes in the bin! Har, har, har...'

It's not even consistent.

I'd love a late model x68000.
I once found an English version of the OS too (I forget which one). Stupidly I deleted it when making room on a HDD & haven't found it again.

Back on topic:
amigakit..?
Nothing but praise for their products & service. Given how endangered such Amiga-centric companies are (esp the good ones) I almost wish I have more reason to buy from, & so support, them.

Some educated guesswork might suggest the leamancomputing.co.uk that amigakit resides on might make him enough money to keep going

Looks like he doesn't really need to sell Amiga stuff if he didn't want to... so I for one am happy he finds time to run amigakit

For me, a long wait for an email reply made me have to only place half an order (the stuff that was in stock in the webshop). So I must now wait again to be able to order the rest (ran out of stock).

Seems a nice guy and ships the stuff nicely packed, guess he just doesn't have enough time to handle order peaks. If he's just one person it's even more awesome he can work full time and sell Amiga stuff as well!

Is everything ok with AmigaKit?

I ordered things in stock on 24th, paid immediately and... have heard nothing. I know it's only 29th, but I dropped them an email: nothing. I've tried phoning and just get "please try later".

I'm pretty desperate for the power supply converter cable, and just want to know that they're alive and kicking. I'm sure they are given that Amiga Future 70 only went up on their site recently...

Yes, agreed - however I'd have thought that stuff in stock would have gone from "pending" to "being picked" or "allocated" given that it's all in stock and paid for.

I know I'm being impatient, but I want to put a new PSU in my dead 4000 to see what's wrong with it

The only parcel I'm expecting is the gear I've ordered from Amikit

I got all the emails that alexh got. So I should be sorted

So fingers crossed

Chiark,

Scrappysphinx has just reported in another thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=34527 that he ordered some crystals on Sunday and they've arrived today

What with my dead 4000, I am starting to think that lady luck is not shining on me - she's doing something, but it's not shining

I raised a support ticket and got the terse response back "We despatch all orders within 7 working days."

And the order is still "pending".

Ho hum, at least they're still alive and responding!

It is possible they hand make several of their components and while they are "in stock" they are not assembled? Pure speculation.

My order had long delivery time too. After i paid, it took about 7 working days to shipping.Maybe because i used bank transfer it was so slow. But delivery was by road and not air mail, which i wonder because delivery costs were so high.

I ordered some days ago Amiga OS 3.1 original disks (new disks!) and the CF-ADAPTER+EasyADF (Great to see a software with 2008 date), very good price and fast fast fast shipment from UK to Spain.

I also agree that the service of amigakit.com is great!

Must add my voice to the chorus, I've always found Matthew to be most professional.
Quick replies, good (human) communication, and a font of knowledge on the Amiga hardware scene.
Deliveries have always been quick and well packaged, and always had the correct items.

I can strongly recommend using his service.

Regards

I've been to the shop a couple of times now and bought a few bits and bobs (basically he helped me tower my Amiga) and then when I messed something up he actually helped me to install it!

Can't praise him highly enough. He's just a nice guy to deal with. I'm looking at buying a couple of bits for my A2000 soon (roll on pay day) and it'll be ordered with amigakit.com it's almost automatic that I buy through them if I need anything.

Yes amigakit is great too, I have bought from amigakit in the past and found the service great. I always prefer to pay inflated prices for generic hardware from amigakit because I know amigakit has tested that it works on the amiga and refurbished it and put a sticker on it. Thank you amigakit for reminding us about your webstore in every thread you get an opportunity to. Just in case anybody missed it:
