Amiga Power Reviews

If you are looking for Amiga Power review scores, then you can find a list that I compiled here:

http://home.hia.no/~jafrohol/apcommercial.htm

But, this information will also be on the EAB database.

Those AP scores are way too extreme

Looks like you have spent many hours on the list. The list of games reviewed by Amiga magazines gets more and more complete everyday.

WHAT?!? Amiga Power has awarded Turrican 3 with a miserable score of 62%? This can't be true! I know the game is less a classic than its predecessors but a score like this cannot be taken seriously. I would love to see a review of this game.

It took a long time!

Here's a mini-review. I think the point is that it's the same as the previous two games!

Turrican 2 with a rope to swing from. 3/5*

It's a whole different game

Hmm, 3 is the same as the previous games? What did they expect of Turrican 3? That it would be a point 'n' click adventure?!
For me, the third part is a whole lot different than the first two. It does not have scrolling shoot'-em-up levels, Turri has a rope, levels are less Lego-like and so on. Those AP guys are really a bunch of rude judges!

Oh well, I get a bit upset when one of my favourite games-series gets a score below 90% in any magazine.

You've got to remember that 62% is not a bad score. It's above average. Amiga Power used almost the complete percentage range.

It would be bad in a magazine like Amiga Action which rated most games from 70-90%.

I agree...

Most magazines awarded a game a score of 60% even when it really was not worth the disc it came on. In those days rumours were spread that if a magazine awarded a game with a highscore, it would be the first to get previews of forthcoming games.

Although I never have bought a single AP-magazine I always took a peek at the newsagents. Slagging off games and softwarehouses seemed to be the magazine's forthe and made a nice read.
