Twistin' Ghost's MIA Listing

OK, so I blatantly ripped off Cody's subject. See you on People's Court!

This thread has been modified because I removed the box art for the games that have been found, plus I moved everything to a master listing below. Thanks to all who have helped find so many of these games!

OK, I found one of my old wants lists, struck the titles that I've gotten since then, and am left with a few that have yet to be realised. I will bypass the ones that are already on Cody's list.

A-Train Construction Kit (1992/Maxis) have original (dump), is there a crack?
Artificial Dreams (198x/Prism Leisure)
Atomix (1990/Thalion) NOT "Atomic"

Beyond Dark Castle (1989/Activision)
Blip N' Blop (19xx/Psycho 'Pat)

Contraption Zack (1992/Mindscape) floppy version
Creepers (1994/Psygnosis) does this exist? beta maybe?

Hoooray For Henrietta (1990/Scotlander)

Mini Golf (19??/Magic Bytes)

PGA Tour Gold - Tournament Course Disk (199?/Electronic Arts)

Puppy Love (1988/Addison-Wesley) working version

Reunion AGA (English) (1993/Grandslam) need disks 6, 7 and 8
Robot Commander (1990/Ariola Soft) probably German-only
Rush 'N Attack/The Green Berets - both/either, if they even exist

Stack Up (1991/Zeppelin) standalone, not compact
Summer Olympiad (1988/Tynesoft)
Superhero (1993/Psygnosis) never released

Takado (1988/Kingsoft)
Thomas The Tank Engine 2 (1993/Alternative) is there an ECS version of this?

I've also won Striker No. 9 in an auction recently, so I'll image the disk when I receive it.

This may be the same game or just another game by the same team, but authors of Grossmeister above, Dark Horse, also did Chessmate.

Nautilis I thought Bernd mentioned once. I think he sid it was better than Silent Service. Maybe he can help with that one, Twist.

I was wondering if Striker (Impressions) was the same as Striker No. 9.

This confirms it, because Energize was Impressions' budget range, so the box just has a different name from the actual game titlescreen.

Yes, it looks like they are the same.

in the intro it says: "Angels + Defjam present Striker Number 9 from Impresssions"

and here is the title screen:

Happy Sinistar

BEWARE COWARD..........

.......RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!

:laugh

A definite classic, no question. A very scary game indeed when the Sinistar gets built and he comes chasing after you. The only gripe I have with this shmup is it's far too hard. I can complete L1 fine but L2, the difficulty just seems to skyrocket. Is it just me or have other people noticed this?

I loved MJs latest

I played Gyruss on MAME recently and I'm amazed at how well they ported it to the C64 (since that's the one I've been playing for years). Good job

Yeah, the C64 version is BRILLIAN, but it's easier than the arcade one. I suck at the arcade version

Hey, where's Puppy Love!!?!?!? How can you sleep at night knowing that the last few originals of Puppy Love are covered with mold and spider eggs? Somewhere in this world is a working copy of Puppy Love, and a very lonely two-color animated dog is on that disk waiting for his master to call his name once again.

D'OH!

Thanks for dropping that coconut on my head, DP! I actually have a more updated version of my Wants List somewhere, but I just don't know where, so I patched up the one I did find. There is much to be added! Can't wait to see what Santa brings EAB this year!

Amiga Format Coverdisk 54-B Sensible's "Cannon Soccer"
Twistin, is this the same game/demo as the Amiga Format Xmas Special (currently in Tosec games dat as "Cannon Fodder - Amiga Format Christmas Special (1992)(Sensible)[cr FairLight].adf")?

If so, presumably you want an uncracked version? I may be able to get this at Christmas, I know for sure that my friend has it.

If not, just ignore me .

Uploaded some of your requests twisty!

I think a-train construction kit used dos disks, so it had no copy protection, but i'm not sure if it had manual protection or not.

BTW - Tell me if you get space station oblivion working.

Excellent! Thanks, Andy! I was just looking at this message this morning and was getting ready to strike an entry and modify a few others, but I got dragged back to work (this has been an especially bad work week with my work hours exceeding my home/sleep hours...) Very excited...I think I can get SSO to work; I have an original of it and have had that working, so I'll see what happens.

@TikTok
Yeah, that's the same game. I need to check to see if there's anything different about the adf version and the protected coverdisk, but I don't have my coverdisk collection accessible.

I think I found a source for several others on the list, so I hope to get my paws on those, too. By that time, I should have the new changes to my MIA.

Hey, thanks again for the uppers!

This CANNOT work. It's just a disk rotten to the core.
This disk is 100% full, but the only files on this disk are

o disk.info
o driller.info (but no driller executable [anymore])
o oblivion.info
o wait
o Trashcan.info
Ugh...hey Andy, where the hell did you dig out THAT? :laugh

Twist: well, I do have a Driller adf. But it's by Incentive Software, showing a spaceship in cockpit view - you're looking for a different one, I suppose?

Yeah, Driller I have, which is the European version. Space Station Oblivion is the US version of the same game. I might have a contact on a copy of this, but I still wanna see the one posted (I'm a collector of non-working disks?)

The Puppy Love that I uploaded before appears to be a standard copy from a protected original, so it won't let you into the game because of it being a dupe. I am seeking a mirror of the original or a cracked version (and I *may* have found one of those, as well).

Space station oblivion

It looks like it may have been copied from a protected disk and this is the result, there definitely seems some problem with it anyway.

I believe that was me right around Christmastime. Last night I found something cracked as "Tracksuit Manager 91" but the title screen says '90 by Goliath games???

@DPainter
Thanks for the info (and those uploads, as well!) Go ahead and send up that Tracksuit Manager '91 if you could. Sometimes the dates on those title screens refer to the original code and not the updated part, so this may still be what I am looking for. Worth a look anyway.

@Shadowen
Thanks for Italia 1990 - it kept crashing on me, so I checked it out from AmigaDOS. VirusChecker II claimed it has the French bootblock virus, while DMS said it was the NoVirus bootblock. In any case, I reinstalled it with 1.3 bootblock. It still hung at track 55 regardless of which config I used (except for 3.x, which just gurus...) But it is indeed the right game, since the credits in the binary mentions David Darling.

I fiddled and fiddled and finally got it to work with WinUAE 0.8.16r4 (nope, not even WinFellow worked for me), but it was tricky. For anyone interested, I used 1.3 rom, 512k chip (only), Match A500 Speed/More Compatible, OCS, and disabled all drives except for DF0: - some of those may be variable, but the turning point in making it work for me with those settings was when I set it to OCS instead of ECS. So there ya go. Shame the game is dire, but I knew it would be.

So thanks again, Shadowen. The check is in the mail.
