Thanks for the rundown.

So Asskickers is a multi-platform Mac/PC game that doesn't work in OS X or Windows. There's a unique claim to fame for the poster!

Oh well, judging by the reviews I've read I don't think we're missing out on much... unless you happen to have a masochistic, homoerotic spanking fetish that is. Once would be funny, but after defeating each and every boss? Talk about flogging dead horses.

Maldita Castilla sounds more promising. I'm sure if I'd played the GnG games more my beloved Miggy would have ended up flying through the window so maybe toning down the difficulty will make for a more enjoyable experience.

TAGAP looks really slick and you can't argue with a Walker-Turrican combo so I'm going to have to find a Windows machine to try it out on.

Not especially recognisable as a classic Amiga game, but I don't mind adding Pictris related stuff as long as it's reasonably faithful. Maybe a 'best of' selection would be wise so it doesn't spiral out of control.

Wink War has never been so much Nintendo

Short version of the story, Cannon Fodder has been ported (as homebrew) to the Wii:
http://www.foxysofts.com/?l=content/wii/cfodder.inc

and to the DS:
http://www.portabledev.com/pages/ds/...nnonfodder.php

Long version (based on what I can read on the sites):
Foxy, who did the Wii version first converted the ST version to PC under C/SDL in order to port it to Symbian.
Then he adapted the C/SDL version to the Wii.

More recently, Alekmaul using the code provided by Foxy ported the game to the DS.
He used graphics from the Amiga version.

Not having a Wii I cannot say anything about this version.

I have tested the 2 first missions on DS. It works pretty well. The only minor issues I have found are sound-related. A few weird noises (seldom heard). The most recurrent issue is the sound of hit soldiers being high-pitched. I believe it has to do with the sound of the birds flying on the map and interfering in a sort of way.

The controls are pretty fine. You either control the cursor via the joypad (and use A as left click) or by tapping the touchscreen (moves cursor and left clickes at the same time).

There is a little deviation compared to the original, although not really importantin my eyes. The soldier panel (grenades, rockets, team splitting) is not visible most of the time. You have to press select to make it appears and it then pauses the game, which is a good decision IMO as you therefore don't need to hurry to do such actions.

I wonder if it would be possible for the Wii and DS versions to be compiled using the New Campaign maps:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=39037

I guess when I have a bit of time I'll report the sound issue to Alekmaul and ask if he thinks it is possible.

Finally, on the Cannon Fodder topic, you should remove the entry for the PSP version since it was cancelled apparently:

I'll be a bit busy with some personal stuff this month but later I will do such a list.

I've ported Really Bad Eggs (Super Foul Egg) from the DS to the Mac:

https://bitbucket.org/ant512/reallyb...X_20110924.zip

This is a rewrite to Objective-C and OpenGL, rather than the C++/SDL version that was previously available, so the graphics are much larger and it works full-screen.

It's not quite finished yet. The options screens are missing, which means you can't choose the controls/AI difficulty/game mode/speed/initial height, but it's playable.

OK, I've added two new entries and deleted one for Cannon Fodder, and updated your Super Foul Egg entry, ant512.

Always nice to see the Mac getting some retro attention. I'm going to have to make some time to have a dabble.

Qwak is a brilliant game and perfect conversion by the original author, but it's already been in the database for quite a while. Thanks anyway.

Rick Dangerous 2 for the DS:
http://www.portabledev.com/pages/ds/...dangerous2.php

From the description, it is based on some source code from a PC version based on the ST version. But it uses the Amiga sounds and musics (although there are some sounds which I don't remember exactly to sound like that).

So perhaps there will be other ports in the future.

Played a bit and seems fine. Now, you can even hear the sounds while the music is playing at the beginning of a level.

Not sure if it is intended but Select seems to skip levels. But I have the feeling that at one time it skipped several levels despite my pressing only one time Select .

Edit: Btw, IMO Tecnoballz should have Tecnoball:
http://hol.abime.net/1328
listed as original game rather than Arkanoid

Stick Man Rescue for the PSP is a Choplifter-inspired game.
http://www.tikgames.com/games/view/67/stick-man-rescue/

Video trailer:
http://www.gamespot.com/stick-man-re...ailer-6348805/

Not played (yet), so I can't say anything about controls etc... but at least it does not seem to take itself too seriously, judging from the trailer, so it could be a fun game for quickplay sessions.

Here is the list of Choplifter-inspired games on Amiga, so that you can pick one for the listing:

That one's been there since January 2008. I've got it listed as a remake of 'Dune 2', while others are listed under 'Dune II' with Roman numerals. I'll have to fix that for consistency's sake.

Regarding Barbarian 3D, as I skipped a bit parts of the video I don't know if the comentator mentions it, but from what I read online the game is out now for iPhone/Pad and should be in 15 days for PC and Mac and in March on Android.

Anyway back to topic:

Duyumania, a DS homebrew of pretty high production quality (you can check the trailer in the linked thread:
http://gbatemp.net/topic/320298-duyumania/

According to the author: "Actually the idea was to make an updated Solomon's Key".
http://gbatemp.net/topic/320298-duyu...0#entry4104570

While there was no version of Solomon's key on Amiga, there are some games inspired by it, so you can easily find a way to put an entry for that :
http://hol.abime.net/hol_search.php?..._quickmatch=63

I played a few levels and found it quite nice for its kind. It is a bit different from Solomon's key as you can place blocks wherever you want among some selected location. In other words, you don't have to be next to a location to place a block there.

One funny thing was that when I tried it some musics reminded me of Amiga music. Especially, the level selection music made me think of Alfred the chicken.

One day later edit:
While looking for some information on Puzznic, I stumbled upon this page:
http://puzzlingiphone.wordpress.com/...tching-puzzle/

and therefore the whole blog: http://puzzlingiphone.wordpress.com/
which focuses on puzzle games available for iPhones and iPod touch.

I am pretty sure you can find some Amiga-inspired games among them.
I don't have an iDevice, so I won't check things myself.

Thanks to both of you - that's another couple of entries added. I'll have to delve into that puzzle site and see if anything jumps out at me.

Looks interesting. I wonder how much that game inspired Sleepwalker. Back to Bed looks like an isometric version of Sleepwalker, but with the game mechanics of Brat.

The Mac version of Really Bad Eggs is finished:

http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/super...51204021?mt=12

It got renamed back to "Super Foul Egg" and it's now on the Mac App Store as a free download.
