You could also have had:

Doing it for the Kids

Be Fast not F.A.S.T

And any number of others. We had loads of the bloody things. I think the cracking/training side only ever used 'For Fun Not Status' - You'd need to extract Hydro from the mists of time to find out for sure.

The others were used pretty early on by the demo side.

For the trivia fans and saddos among you, Aztech (One of our first 'in house' musicians) was the one who came up with 'For Fun Not Status' and 'Doing it for the Kids'. Count Zero came up with the other two.

The rest of us could never be arsed.

'Pain is just the Beginning' was dropped because some of our members could not spell the word 'beginning' on a regular basis. And we figured that the word 'pain' could, all too easily, be substituted for 'lame'. Sigh......

I released two or three ATX releases with "For Fun not Status" as that's whay Hydro wanted... and for the trivia-heads we also used the handle for the supplier of "B.H.S." as both an in-thing for UK guys (the high street shop BHS) and as a shorthand for "Beast-Hydro-Sprog!!".

Mungo, what happened to Hydro? I know Sprog!! still lives local to me but haven't seen him in years.....

God, I really don't know.

I talked to Hydro less and less once the cracking side of the group got going. 'My' bit of Anthrox was only ever the Amiga demo side - The cracking side of things was a confusing and scarey place that I knew next to nothing about .

We had a couple of titanic rows that didn't help matters either. But mainly I just fell out of touch with him when I discovered my life outside of the Amiga.

Say hello to Sprog!! from me if you run into him again. He was a top chap! And Darren, if you're reading this, show yourself! Would be great to find out what you've been up to for all these years!

One more slogan from the legends

Cracked by the VERY best.

I sure that everyone knows who this was. I searched the page before posting (If I missed it, then probably too many late nights reading code), as this was probably the most famous slogan of '88 and '89.

Another fine game, cracked 101% (100% screwed, 1% working)

Today we fucked for ya XXX with our special random crash system

Accept no imitation, we are the worst ones

Special scene demo version, game will crash at the very last level

Today we forgot to remove some protection checks in: XXXX

We almost got it, we are almsot the world 1st

Blablabla presents you XXXX, working_only_on_cracker's_system edition

There is some truth in this zOOmba but it's impressing that a simple "cracked by the very best - ..." indeed belongs to a group WE ALL KNOW so it's a well choiced slogan...

I was not refering to Quartex or any other, it's just a little joke for all those bad cracks that spreaded around from times to times.

Anyway I have much respect for (most) of the crackers out there.
