Need to hear that tune again (tracking down a demo disk!)
Hi, looking for a demo that was a picture of an industrial or city landscape (skyscrapers etc) with a female android in the foreground looking sexy with a chilled out piece of music going on...
Just love to hear the tune again, cos Ive got bits of it stuck in my head... Thanks M. |

The only one that springs to mind is a CU Amiga coverdisk tune done by Allistair Brimble. All i can remember is the sexy female android but the background is just a blur

Sounds the one!
Thanks... that sounds right, must admit the background is a blur to me too, was just guessing. Any idea what company he worked for, then I can get the ADF?

Brimble is a freelance musician and did a lot of stuff for Team 17 / Codemasters as well as PD music disks for 17-bit software and released a couple of CD's too....
But..... for the life of me I can't recall what the name of this tune is called either! Just checking out his website..... http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homep...ble/index.html Will let you know if I find it..... or vice versa!! |

Good news...... Found it!!!!
I still don't now what the song called as the file is entitled "amigafor.mod" which leads me to believe it was on an Amiga Format magazine coverdisk and not CU Amiga as i quoted. Anyway, use this link.... http://www.modarchive.com/cgi/search...hits=20&since= Then click on Amigafor.mod to download and save. Unzip the file and load up your tune into any Amiga tracker programs (if you don't have one.... the above site has loads!) Listen to your hearts content!!! Good luck |

Further investigation... well ive come this far!
Think this is the actual magazine it came on... its 1989 (same date as the mod and it says music demo from 17bit software)
check it out: http://www.amigau.com/aig/af/af003.html its weird cos i actually remember that cover! Do u remember an evil laugh demo where there was side scrolling and a ha ha ha ha ha kind of music playing (might have been a game crack demo come to think of it... anyway not really bothered bout it) just rememeber it about the same time. I actually emailed Allistair Brimble the other day , will have to tell him ive found his tune now! |

Well pleased that was the right tune!!!
Can't believe I had bought every issue of Amiga Format (and CU Amiga) and kept all the mags and disks for years!!! Got rid of the whole lot about four years ago... if i had them now I'd be converting "that" pic to ADF. Oh well... (and yes... I have been searching the net!!) As for the demo with the evil laugh..... I remember that one too but have no idea whether is was a game crack or music disk. Sorry! guess it's kind of a lucky dip and try downloading every ADF music demo there is available at the mo... unless someone else out there knows of it?? Geeez.... I now have a tune in my head with "it began in Africa" vocals in it..... anyone?!? |

Finally got the demo working!
...And here is the pic that goes with the music... the andriod seems to have manifested into a male version who doesnt seem quite as sexy as I originally thought! memories can do strange things, i guess!

Just had an email off of Alistair recently. He's still making commercial sounds. Don`t forget there's a new installment of the "Immortal" series due any time? and I`m sure he's got something on that.

i have been trying to find a piece of music since i starting using WinUAE back whenever when...
it was bundled on a coverdisk with soundtracker, protracker maybe even startrekker.. it had a vocal on it, which, in an almost robotic voice said "conducetrants"... i believe i check all the mod sites... if anyone knows of it please post back.. i might even marry you* *depends on other conditions to be confirmed! |

Fantastic to see that not one Amiga disk is being overlooked in any shape or form... and if its not anywhere, you've only gotta ask here and sure enough, someone has uploaded to The Zone. Marvellous!!! |
