It does indeed! And my bad for not cheking recent threads more seriously before posting... (My mother used to tell me: "roll my tongue 7 times...", you know. Seems like I remained a stubborn idiot to this day! ^^).

(PS. Thx for the welcome! I like it here, used to browse around for more than a year, seeing there's no other amiga-related forum that comes even close in terms of worthy tips and infos. Must say I'm glad I finally bothered to join, so I'll try to remain active, he he).

Well now that you 'revived' this old thread, maybe the two will be merged (so it won't happen again you know ).
Like Graham would say : Hope you enjoy your stay in the madhouse

Ack. Way to give me false hope people! Was hoping there'd be an update on the FTP situation.

BTTR's one of the very few sites at the heart of the Amiga (emulation) community to me... Sounds shamefully geeky of me to say so but I truly don't believe I could live without it, he he, so yeah, long live to it indeed!

the ftp is working at least.. although i think some files were never restored from previous times (please correct me if i am wrong)

i 'm going to grouch, but people running these types of projects, should make sure they have daily (at least) backups, so that data can be restored if hardware fails..

i'm happy to offer hosting to any sites that need a new home etc. can't guarantee any uptime, but i can guarantee that full backups are made daily (with up to 14 days history)

im sure bttr however will be backup shortly without a loss of data though. especially is lessons were learnt from previous failures.

Wait, has it been down for *that* long? Having tried to access the site just now and failing (but still able to download off the FTP) and noticing the last post here, I felt the need to ask.

Would be magic if abime was somehow powerful enough a beast to host BTTR itself, but I doubt it.

I'm wondering how much hardware would be needed to run BTTR?

It's really a shame, being a great source of software and information.

Not hardware, but a stable host. hippie2000 is on IRC from time to time, will ask him if there is a way to help next time I see him.

Ok, I didn't realize that was the problem. Sounds like a good idea. I'd be willing to chime in with whatever

Actually been offline for a couple of month or even more now, unless I'm mistaken...
And Hippie2000 seems not to be around here anymore since about a year, right? (Maybe on IRC)

With their history of switching on/offline all the time since always, I wouldn't be surprised (but hugely disappointed -- I haven't got round to back up everything from them yet ^^) if they just went off for good someday without warning.

Is this it already? I wonder...

I'm sure that RCK could sort it. Even if we have to use the entire French internet infrastructure to make it so!
