Problem with idefix

Well, i have installed amicdfs on my 1200 for cdrom support, however, the default config had scsi.device, wich wasn't working with my ide drive, so i pick up the atapi.device from my amiga forever package and then, voilá, complete acces to the cd drive. The only problem is the annoying snag screen telling you to register idefix. I'm using a 2,5 to two 3,5 cable and my question is, since with amiga forever comes a licence of it, what can i do to remove this nag screen from the start.
I know there is a licenced idefix on af2005.
By the way, if anyone knows how to configure the ide drive with amicdfs directly, it could be a solution too, using the forementioned scsi.device.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!

if you want to use scsi.device you have to have Atapi enabled in the ide-fix prefs. this will allow you to also use device id 2 and 3 for cdroms.

I haven't installed idefix, only the atapi.devices wich was in /devs.
Is there any other file from my af setup that i could copy to the real miggy to pass the nag screen?

I cant remember what files the ide-fix package is made of (Been many years since ive used it). Id download the full idefix package and install that. a valid key is pasted in threads on various plugins. if you aleady have the serial info from the af cd, then there shouldbe a registration programe installed somewhere on the cd which is used to enter the key. I think it makes an idefix.library which remembers the exact sector its stored on. I often had to rereg after restoring a backup or defraging.

Thanks for the replies, i have solved the problem. The atapi.device works like a charm without installing the idefix package, only amicdfs from aminet. I just registered it with my Af2005 serial and worked!!!!. Now i can acces the cdrom drive.
One more question i have: is any special type of cd type that can be read without problems on the amiga? Some of my cds can't be read, and with one it takes so long to display an entire directory(i cancel before it stops, because i think that it freezes).
Any idea?

it _might_ be the fault of the CDROM itself. If you can get a newer drive, or just for the heck of it, try with the PC drive, see if it helps
