Quickstart problem

I have made configuration files for all my games and added them to the start menu, so I just click on the name to start the game. The problem is, when I click F12 and enter the GUI, the GUI doesn't show the actual settings for the game I am running (ie it doesn't show what disks are in, what ram settings are being used, game ports, and so on), but rather the default settings for the emulator.

I think I read somewhere that this had to do with the quickstart option, but I am not quite sure what to do about it.

Uncheck 'Start in quickstart-mode' in quickstart panel.
