Question 1081 monitor - no analog RGB

I figured i'd post this here as well since it has to do with SCART and there seem to be more europeans hanging out at EAB than in comp.sys.cbm where I posted at first.

I have an Amiga 1081 monitor that won't accept an analog RGB signal on the SCART input. Using an adaptor, feeding a composite video signal to the SCART input works fine, as does the seperate RCA composite input (tested with TV-Out from my PCs graphics card).

I don't have any means to test the TTL DIN RGB input (this is a digital, CGA-type RGB for use with Commodore 128, right?).

The RGB cable I use and various RGB signal sources (JAMMA arcade PCBs and VGA to RGB using Powerstrip and a Radeon 7000) works perfectly fine with another monitor. But when I press the CVBS/RGB switch to activate the SCART RGB input on the 1081, all I get is a white screen.

The 1081 doesn't need RGB blanking pin 16 held high does it?

I've tried poking around carefully inside the monitor pulling and poking at cables and plugs but with no result.

I could do with some inspiration :-) Anybody know what to look for?

Have a look at this website. It's all about repairing and fault finding of Commodore equipment.

I know about Ray Carlsens site. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to have any information about fixing monitors!

Thanks zh but the composite input works, so it can't be any of those things.. It must be further back in the signal chain. Site bookmarked though!

I'll try emailing Ray Carlsen but I doubt he ever saw one of those monitors...SCART is europe only. Out of curiosity, what type of input is on this monitor in the US instead of the SCART?
