R-type on the CPC, like Uukrul said, is identical to the Spectrum. I think the Spectrum version is great for a Spectrum, but not for an Amstrad game .

@Retroman

Yet I think they had to put a "Psygnosis" trademark somewhere..

When I 1st got the spectrum version, I saw only the name "Beast", and no Psygo copyright, I thought they had just stole the game idea or something (Although a big company like Gremlin woulnd't do that)

The same happens in the CPC version...

Oh yeah, and Silkworm on CPC is indeed great

And the sequel SWIV is simply one of the worst games I've ever seen on the CPC. Conclusion: CPC was a great machine with very bad programmers.

I wouldn't say bad programmers, I'd say LAZY. A LOT of games were Spectrum shovelware. But there were demo coders who made GREAT stuff!

I don't think Swiv was that bad on the CPC. It's not good either, is just average.

Like R-Type, it's a good game for spectrum, but not for the CPC

Sorry, but SWIV on CPC is a REALLY CRAP GAME !!!! The scrolling sucks, the gfx sucks and so does the game While Silkworm was brilliant, I can´t understand why they made SWIV to be that crappy ...... hmmm, it´s all about the money, the sooner the game is ready, the sooner they get more money, it´s a real shame ......
