Yeah, I didnt mean that! But sometimes one can be surprised by owning a low serial number machine just by luck! Happened to me with a C128 and a couple of 1571s,.
Recently I talked at the Lemon forum wwith the guy ho bought that old C64 off eBay. he posted his serial number: 21972
Another guy replied saying that his is in he late 2000s

So perhaps there are MORE than we think.

Nice to see pictures like that A lotta good memories of my C64 long since gone away. It wasn't special... probably nothing more than one in millions... special only for the memories.

You are right. Btw, My C64 looks like Mick_AKA's, I mean the badge. and probably all the case. And as Pede said it's nothing more than one in millions, only the memories are unique

Smile C64 galore

C64s are still sooo easy to get in The Netherlands. Next week in my parents’ town a yearly market is held. For less than 5 Euro you can get a PAL C64 with C2N datarecorder and some tapes. – Dunno whether the machine will work, though but I am thinking of getting one…

[US]Commodore SX-64

Just have been using the SX64 with 64HDD, and all I can say is, once again,

Right, right, your US Plus/4 really looks little bit different to my PAL one.
Where there is '+4' in yours there is written 'plus/4' on mine....

Meanwhile I also bought myself something special:
A C64 Games System ( C64-GS )
Cost me 120 Euros ( 150 with shipping ) !!! - phuuuu, time to do some extrawork for me to afford it

Sadly the GS doesn't work
It definitely is an original GS and not a selfmade one from a spare GS case and a C64-C board. It was also still sealed !
But it gives me a typical black screen when turned on

I believe the seller cheated on me, but ofcourse I cannot proof this. But chances are very low that things get damaged electronically during shipping. If soemthing gets broken on the way then for 99% it is things like a broken case or other mechanical damages , but no electronic ones.

But I will surely fix it one day

Of course, that is your run-of-the-mill Plussy, but believe me, Plus/4s that say "+4" on the badge are much more common in Europe than in the US! This is a novelty I never noticed it was like this until I got it! I bought it for 5 dollars, the auction didnt even have a picture!

If the guy sold it with a DOA or "perfect working condition" statement, you MUST complain to him and make him give back your cash. 150 euros is a LOT of cash to be blown.

I had a similar problem with my MSX2 ... The stupid seller fucked up the diskdrive and never took responsibility for it. I hate him

jeesus...

A C/C++ compiler for 6502? That's too tempting to pass up a little play, at least

UAE for C64 anyone?

Well; I didn't buy this at an auction but bought it just so from him. But as I know he is also selling LOTS of C= and other old computer/console stuff on Ebay and has a very, very good history I trusted him and sent him the money.
I believe a C64-GS is worth the 120 Euros because it is a VERY rare C64 ! ( even rarer than the SX because it was a BIG flop and only sold in England and Denmark ) And for a C64 collector like me it simply is a must-have

Ofcourse he said the GS was working, and now he will at least send me a C64-C for spareparts.
Hope I get the GS working without having to desolder lots of chips.... ( everything except VIC and SID is soldered in in these fu$%&ng C64-C boards )

Can you actually do much work/gaming on the sx-64 with that little screen? I remember playing with one at KMART and wondered how usefull it would be (well except for taking to your friends house to duplicate his C64 game collection.

I wasnt impressed with the +4 when it was new either, wasnt that much different then a c64 except for case design, some enhancements (or incompatabilities depending on your viewpoint) and built in apps.

Yes. I am impressed by the little screen!!! Nevertheless, you can hook up a TV or monitor to it if you feel like it so absolutely no loss!

I don't agree. The +4 has a vastly improved BASIC (almost as good as the C128's Basic 7), and a lot more colors can be displayed on-screen at once. However it was still underpowered in comparison to the C64 (the poor TED was left to do everything from audio to video to I/O!), but still a very nice machine IMO! if C= would have made a +4/C64 hybrid, they would have got an MSX2 killer.
