Is there any way to get CD drives working with this setup?

I've got the IDE version of the DataFlyer 2000 installed in an A2500. It recognizes every hard drive I throw at it just fine, but it doesn't seem to know how to talk to the CD drive I've got plugged into it. I can't seem to find an ATAPI driver for the card (which is apparently what I need), but I've heard that there was a hack somewhere which gives the card some sort of rudimentary support.

Can anyone help?

Which CDFileSystem have you tested so far ?

Try to install IDEFix97 Demo from Aminet and try FINDDEVICE to see, wether the CDRom can be found or not

That's what I did, and it can't see the drive. I've only tried the CDFS that somes with IDEFix, and since SysInfo can't find the drive it seems pointless to try and use anything else at the moment.

Make a full install of IDEFix. I also had problems with CacheCDFS from the OS3.5 CD. My A4000 couldn't identify the CD Drive no matter what I did (I had 2 HDs + 1 CD drive). So, I installed IDEFix and sorted this out. Not sure how it will work with Dataflyer since I use this with a buffered interface.

This is correct. AmigaOS does not have software to handle 4-way adapters, even with OS 3.5/3.9. For these interfaces you always need the IDEfix software.

However, if IDEfix does not contain a driver for the Dataflyer, it will be of no use here. (I don't know if it does.)

It doesn't. I think I'm up a creek.
