CF cards on A1200

Today morning I test 4 CF cards with my pcmcia CF card adapter, and I am very happy with results!

I think thats a best medium from transfer data from pc -> amiga!

I tested these 4 mediums:

16 MB Noname
128 MB Pretec (I got for free)
1 GB Microdrive IBM
4 GB Microdrive Hitachi

all mediums was working perfectly , read speed was from 600kb/sec up to 1.5mb sec.

What do you need if you want to use these cards ?
installed fat95.lha - from aminet
installed cfd.lha - from aminet
pcmcia -> cf card adapter
and cf card ;-)

My A 1200 got a new piece of working HW and she is very hapy

A friend of mine had a 1gb microdrive with adapter and he wants to sell it. If anybody interested, I can ask him this week.

Hello,

Interesting report because It's the first time I could see a test with microdrive 1GO or 4GO CF cards also.

There is als available 4format to PCMCIA adapter but never see test with others media than CF cards with PCMCIA 4in1 adapter (or 5in1).

Maybe this threat could give here more result about CF,XD,... media with adapters in amiga classics.

bye. good WE.

So what sort of CF adapters work?
I assume these are all PCMCIA to CF adapters?

If so this might be easier for me to hunt down than to find a suitable 2.5" hdd.

Basically what probably all PCMCIA-Compact Flash adapters do, is just connect the different pins to the corresponding ones at the other end so it's pretty straightforward really..
