Last friday i stumbled upon this little compilation in a shop. On it's back it adverts 200 amiga games (retail- and demoversions) fully playable under Windows and Macintosh. There is also mentioned the emulation of the original drive sounds.
I didn't bought it, but i think this can only be our beloved WinUAE with drive clicks. So my question is: Is WinUAE fully freeware so that anyone can make a compilation by himself for making money? And what about the Kickrom? There has to be at least the 1.3 Rom. Did Toni get any money for it? (...In case it is WinUAE on this CD...) Link follows here, but beware 'cause it's german! http://magnussoft.com/catalog/produc...592eefb0f61f2b

I have that, it is winUAE, and for some games a hardfile using the unregistered WHDLOAD ... I cannot/care to debate about how "legal" is it, I really do not care, but it is a nice compilation, and you do not have to bother with configuration options to play games.... just click and play... also as the name says, there have been 3 more...

In my (humble) oppinion no one should never ever support such immoral projects. Just as bippym mentioned you can get anything you want through ftp's or even www.planetemu.net, concerning amiga games (TOSEC).
I really wonder if this compilation is legally... @keropi: You're still using emule? A little bit risky at these times, if you'd ask me...

If this is the CD I know then the games have their crack messages intact.
Not something one should PAY to get. |

- you can sell it, Toni doesn't get a dime, nor does the original UAE team - you are entitled to the source - if you modify the source and distribute your own modified version, you must also give the source with your modified version, and the GPL license sticks to your version too. Read more about the GPL at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html Oh, please don't mistake me for an open source fanatic.. I'm typing this on a Windows machine and I'm not hating every minute of it. I just like to call things with their real names, that's all. :-) |

Yes, they did purchase the liscense for the kickstart roms for this.
It's an ok product for those that can't figure out how to correctly set up WnUAE, or don't have the knowledge of where to look for files. It is nice in that you don't have to screw with WinUAE settings to get a game to run, as they have done this already for you. My opinion ![]() |
