Hooooo Cavitas [CAPS #2251] loading failure

Such a tricky copy protection, and no wonder either that it fails on current WinUAE.

Standard A500 configuration, 100% floppy, plus CE. (As an alternative setting, I turned it off as well, but that didn't work either).

After running thru all the tracks it would go back to zero, then show a red flashing garbage screen (as if there's a second disk that's wanted, but there definitely isn't ).
Even though I wait for ages, it doesn't seem to work. Clicking the mouse results in a reset of the "Amiga".
Tested with very latest 0992 beta 3.

Can anyone confirm this failure?

Nope, you are on your own
Here is the solution:
1, go and download the latest library from our site - the library you might be having from certain beta boards won't help you with this problem
2, enjoy

...unless Toni broke something in b3, but I don't think so, it works perfectly in b2.

Beta boards?! You must be joking man! I've never ever downloaded any CAPS library from a beta board, only from the CAPS site. I wouldn't do such silly things as downloading from 3rd-party sites...

Hmm ... got 2.0.0.1 here. (2004-07-31)
Now at 2.2.0.1 (2004-09-23).

No, fails with b3.

How can support be added on September 27th if the CapsImg.dll inside the zip is dated September 23rd?

Good question

Well... the version you have IS a beta, but it is not your fault. The release version is 2.3

Fiath, where are you...?!

Toni: don't bother.

Haaah ... wrong version in the zip then, eh?
I had sort of anticipated it!

YES!

Works now with 2.3 release version of the library.

But the horizontal scrolling is VERY bad and jittery.
I will ask Cody if the original has silky smooth scrolling. (I doubt it )

It seems that quite a few mails went missing from IFW to me in the last couple of weeks, so I was not aware of a new library! I'll change it soon.

I Just downloaded the CAPS plugin from the official page and that's 2.2.0.1,
Tried Cavitas and I get the red flashing screen.
Where did 2.3 come from?
I assume it's the Win32 plugin for WinUAE.

That is probably because I had not put the new library up yet.

Anyway, the new version 2.3.0.1 IPF plugin is now on the site:

Thanks it works like a charm now.
As for the scrolling it's not the best I've seen in an Amiga game.
I seriously doubt WinUAE has anything todo with that.
