Im using WHDLoad and been registered for years. Is the date of registration actually stored in the key? I`d like to know myself when I forked over the cash, my Mail-Archive only goes back to 08/2003 and it doesnt contains the Reg-Mail.

Take out your Amiga-HD and connect it to PC. WinUAE can access it, fastest transfer you could get

Depends how much you copy
If you first set up your HDD (installing stuff from archives, etc ) then doing everything directly via WinUAE is way more convinient. Kinda shows that I dont transfer stuff often ?

I know what yer getting at. I actually did all the initial installation stuff in WinUAE before i plugged the drive in my Amiga. Never ADFblitz again for re-install

I haven't used WHDLoad yet. A few months ago I picked up an Amiga after a 15+ year hiatus. I would love to be able to play games from the Hard Drive, but from my understanding you need ORIGINAL software to get them installed. After being away for such a long time, I don't have any originals left from the old days. I'm not going to start buying 20-year-old originals off ebay either. Are there any sources of pre-installed WHDLoad format games available?

I would certainly register and use WHDLoad if I could find enough software to make it worthwhile. Until then, I'll use floppies created by unpacking ADF files that are all over the internet.

All the files called something like GameNameWHD are indeed fully installed WHDload games. If you look down the update packs you will notice that from August 2005 onwards the naming format changed. This is because every file in the August 2005 pack and newer is also a fully installed WHDLoad game!

Hope you get some use out of them

Anyone got an amiga disk of WHDload?

Does anyone have a copy of WHDLoad, on an amiga Double Density 720KB disk I could purchase from them?

We're unable to download the WHDLoad program from the internet, as we have no method of transferring them from a windows PC to the A1200. Normally we would use CrossDoss but the pc disks have to be formated with a windows 2000 or earlier machine - everyones using evil XP!

Would understandably pay for postage costs of this DD720kb disk.

Many thanks, m

ps - got nothing against XP!

You can format 720kb disks on XP you know.

You just need to do it from the command line.

Something like:

format /t:80 /n:9 a:

if I remember rightly!

Registered in the 90s - and it was worth every penny!!! WHDLOAD is certainly the best app I ever saw on the Amiga, I simply love it.

Without whdload, I would have thrown away all my Amigas a long time ago. Thanks to whdload, I now have 7 Amiga 1200s and still use them nearly every day. Ok, at least every week, if my time allows.

I even named my first child after my then favorite patcher, Sven.

Beside the whdload site with all the work fantastic from Bert and the other install writers, especially KillerGorillas site is absolutely brilliant. I do have far more than 1000 amiga originals, but of course i don´t own all games that have been patched so far. Thanks to KillerGorilla I can play them all! His site is the ideal supplementary site to Berts official whdload site!

I would love to meet Sven and Bert at this years games convention in Leipzig, but I fear that family & job won´t allow me this trip.
