Knights of the Sky...now WORKS in WinUAE 8.17 !

Yes, I am a huge flight sim nut, and this elusive game, emulation wise, on every emulator, from Dos UAE to WinFellow, now works like a charm. I am not sure if anyone else got it working with older versions, but I have always had no luck in it, until now
Standard ECS 13 or A 500 will work.

Wink OI Great

I had this game working ages ago, have you forgotten. This was one of your problem games from AEN wasn't it??

Or was that another game??

It didn't work straight away though with a normal a500 config, it did need an Ian special to work maybe that's what you mean

I see from the screenshot above you must have got passed the coded protection screen, do you have a cracked version or a copy of the manual?

PS I never did find any docs for DDay. I spent 12 hours searching the web yesterday, the wif wasn't pleased.

Mr wright....
I will gladly upload for you the cracked version I have
i am in my office now, so wait 4 hours or so!
As for your wife, she must realize you are a rare breed of man...a WW 2 afficiando, like me. I dated a woman while I owned Panzer General 2, the greatest game of all time. I wish I could live an extra 10 years just to enjOy that marvel of coding. Anyway, she got used to my absences at the Eastern front, besonders mit der neue Panzer, Konig Tiger!! Look at my avatar and you'll see why i am ....nuts..about WW2. I will look for this manual as well. I'll not quit until its found!!

Thanks, Fred.
I have found a cracked copy, great game.

I'll have to change my registration, no need to call me Mr. Wright, my name is Mark. Calling me by my surname reminds me of my schooldays.

Cool PC Flightsims

Hey Fred are you into PC flightsims at all or just Amiga ones? There are loads of great PC flightsims out there mainly by the Janes group. Currently I'm playing Janes F/A-18 which is an incredibly detailed and realistic flight sim. Which means it's bloody hard but great fun too. Especially with a force-feedback joystick.

A friend of mine used to rave on about Flight Sim on the PC (he loves flying. He's been flying since he was 14 and now he's an instructor ). I was always an Amiga person so I would just say "Yeah. Whatever"

Recently, I tried out Flight Sim 98 and OMG! I suck! I can't figure the game out. Too hard. I'd better stick to my mindless beat em ups

Do you use joypad/stick or keyboard, personally I find the keyboard works best.

Steve, I am a flight sim fanatic. I used to play Air Warrior online, but prefer to play alone lately...too much egos and silly stuff online . I LOVE all plaforms of flight sims. The PC ones that are the best lately are B 17 Bomber 2 and Rowan's Battle of Britain. I just upgraded to a 64 MB Nvidia , so the performance is stellar. Flight sims are extremely demanding graphics wise, so I had to. I prefer WW 1 and WW 2 flight sims, the jets are far to complicated that you may need to try my faves, Amigaboy. How about I post you some? Jeeeessst ask

I have everyone ever made for the Amiga, jets or props. Except thr elusive Dive Bomber\Night Raider. Its on Cody's requset list as well as mine.
Mark, I much prefer a joystick. Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 works best.

Question Loads of Flight Sims

What's that last game...

Tower Fra???
Tornado was really slow on my A1200. Jet Pilot was an absolute joke. TFX was great. I really liked Coala though and really got into it. It's more an arcade type game but still good fun. B17 Flying Fortress 2 is a very good game on the PC. Fred have you ever played a PC WW2 flightsim called European Air War. I haven't but it looked awesome when I saw it a couple of years ago.

Tower Fra is a aircraft control room sim, so perhaps it is more like strategy than flight simulation (but it does simulate flight in a way).

I would say that Wings is an arcade adventure, as it contains mostly arcade type bits. The 3D flying part would be a very basic simulation and is more geared towards shooting.

Meegaboy, nope, we discussed this before. Wings is too arcadey

Fred, since you are a flightsim nut, I have an offtopic request for you...There was this PC flightsim, circa 1993, called ATP, or similar, where you controlled airliners. I never got to find this game, I remember I heard it was pretty complex (it even came with flight manuals of each ship!)

Anywa, do you know where could I nab this strange beast?

Tower Fra

Hey Cody,

this one interests me. The German version isn't that hard to get, but the screenshot reveals that this is an ENGLISH version.
This one seems quite rare ... so if you find it, drop it here
For the record, this game was published by the German game company Thalion, who also did Lionheart.

Hey Cody, do you know about the Thalion Webshrine? They might be interested in your copy of Tower Fra. That is to say they have all the other games available for download in some form (plus feature some good info and facts about each game) but just not that one.

@fredtgreat:

does your config for KOTS work with the AP demo as well? That's been known to have loading problems too.

This is Nighthawk F-117A Stealth Fighter 2.0 (1993 Microprose), which was a sort of sequel I think.
