Amiga Atari Lynx Development Kit

I don't own a lynx yet. but here is the developer kit.

h0h0 needs a miggy, I think 3mb ram was mentioned in the Lynx FAQ. This packages lets you encrypt it as well.

http://www.cgexpo.com/roms/lnxcrypt.zip

And the site is http://www.cgexpo.com/lynx.html

Also the unfinished MK2 is freely available for this platform. I think it is stored on www.ataritimes.com.

How would you transfer anything to the lynx?

Do flashcarts exist for the lynx or would new software only run on emulators?

I picked up a lynx with a couple of games recently.

I suppose you would need an official Lynx dev kit, or make your own.
The docs must be out there so I suppose anyone with the needed skills can create an EPROM or Flash cart for the lynx.

Good one!

Well we have access to the tools to encrypt the rom so that it can run a LYNX, but yeah would be nice to know if you can just burn the roms to a EPROM, and run it in a lynx.

I'm wonder if Galahad will know what teams were selling LYNX based hardware/duplicaters.

You can get GBA & other flashcarts from various Hong Kong online stores... maybe one of them will have one? (might be too old for them though?)

Just build your own man, this is not available as a commercial effort. If it was ever made it's not available anymore. But I'm almost 100% sure there never were consumer-level Lynx dev kits.

With all the info out there on the net I bet it would be easy for those who know how to make a cartridge for a Lynx. Maybe try contacting the Songbird Production guys might be of help.

Yeah just joined the atariage lynx message forum. Waiting for confirmation.

I'll try to get the tools and post them here, so they can be put of TOSEC or something.

Correct, there was never any Lynx copier or flashcart available. It was never popular enough for anyone to care. But, you could modify a MGD2 PCE adapter to work with the Lynx.

the lynx prototype board, found in this 17mb LYNX developer .zip archive.

You can build one of these, I want one.

Now to learn 6502 assembler.

btw: the Mortal KOmbat II rom is a HOAX, just some screens then it says "April Fools".

Well I think around 99/2000, a chainstore called DEKA got a huge shipment, (Liquidation sale I guess) and they were selling them for like about $30USD, and the games were about $15USD. My mate brought one, Don't know why I didn't buy one at the time, most probably I didn't have $$$ because I was saving up for a A1200/030.

Some kid in my Amiga user's group about 15 years ago brought one with him to every meeting in a case with a dozen or so games.

Heh I remember using those back in the day. Big silver (Handy) box with a ribbon cable attached to the Lynx. I had a .MOD song data converter written for me on the Amiga so I could get game music written faster than using the music script language. (which I seem to remember had quite a few features in)
