WinUAE doesn't detect joystick button (via ppjoy)

I built an amiga 4 player cable today. Honestly, I didn't add the wires for player 2 but it's irrelevant because the stick works fine with other emulators. I just played sonic on the master system emu meka. Control Panel says it's ok too. But when I launch winuae, I can't see the joystick button in input tab, it doesn't even work with compatibility mode and I see this. Axises work fine, just the button is gone.

Ok it's working after I told the driver to assume the stick has two buttons and swap 1&2. I must have siliconed the wrong pin, yes silicon, I didn't solder. Sonic uses all available buttons for the same function. That's why I didn't notice.

Ppjoy software does that. Only for the ppjoy sticks naturally.

Burseg, can you help a bit with setting up winUAE with PPJoy. I've built up the cable myself, it fully works with all emulators I tried, it is calibrated perfectly in Windows, but I don't know which options to use in winUAE.

When I am about to choose the X, Y and Fire buttons, which ones should I use? I am a bit confused because I was using a PCCompetitor interface up to now, but it is not compatible with my new PC.

Thanks

This works for me:

XAxis = Joy2 Horizontal
YAxis = Joy2 Vertical
Button0 = Joy2 Fire/Mouse1 Left Button (0x00)
Button1 = Joy2 2nd Button/Mouse1 Right Button (0x01)

Like a real amiga, joystick port 1 is considered the mouse port / player 2. Set your joystick as joy2 so that it becomes active as player1.

Okay, I fixed this. As you said, you have to swap Joy1<>Joy2 in winUAE. For some reason, PPJoy and WinUAE works the other way around. Whereas all emulators detect the PPJoy sticks properly, in winUAE you have to swap 1 and 2. Works fine now. So, you didn't make any mistakes when making this cable Burseg, it's just the way things should be...

I just got my Smartplus adapters and my second PSX handcontrol, works with all my emus so i can play 2player, in WinUAE i set it up as control 1 and 2.. and the first one works as it should but the one i replace the mouse with doesnt work in the game, it does work as a "mousebutton" though while "clicking" by the intros in the games, but then in the game no response from it.. ive tried swapping without any results.

Any idea?

You need to change the "compatibility mode" into "configuration 1" by clicking on it and then you can configure many things.

Sorry I can't understand exactly what is not working maybe you can attach a screenshot and mark which option you can't activate the way you want to.
