I've edited the poll so that "The Lucking Horror" says "The Lurking Horror" instead...

Definitely The Lurking Horror. It's one of my favourite Infocom games.

Tough one... lots of good games in there.
My shortlist is LCP, Powerplay and Arkanoid. I'll go for Arkanoid, because it has a bat in it, and the others are without bat. I'm in a bat appreciative mood atm. |

Well, it had to be a Sierra game but it was tough to decide which one. At first I wanted to vote for SQ1 because the SQ series has had the biggest impact on me of all the Sierra titles. But I ended up putting my vote on PQ1, because it was the FIRST Sierra game I played and I can remember to this very day how much it impressed me. I was like 'WHOA, a-fuckin-mazing graphics'
Well, it doesn't look THAT amazing today. ![]() |

teehee) and i just loved the game yet still to this day i havnt completed it (probably because my brother hogged the amiga big time ) |

Though I love adventure games in general and Infocom titles in particular, I'm going to have to pass over any of those games in voting for "best game" simply because they really don't have much replay value once you've solved them. Out of the remainder, I'll have to cast my vote for Arkanoid because it's just as much fun for me to play now as it was the first time I saw it.

I went for Starglider... I've only played it once or twice under emulation, but it was used as part of a Saturday morning television show for children in the UK ("Get Fresh" I think... one of those anyway), and it's (for the time) amazing graphics helped increase the Amiga's profile enormously. They also used Xenon 1 and Weird Dreams... Whilst maybe not the most playable (that's probably Arkanoid), of the games listed, I'd say that it was the most influential/important, with Barbarian perhaps being a close second, as it was the game all my friends locally seemed to be showing off on their brand new Amiga's at that time...

It probably isn't very clear, but Barbarian is the shitty Psygnosis one and not the Palace game.

Yes, I didn't like that Barbarian at all.
I'll stick to Backlash, because it sucked away hours of my youth...just shooting at things and dodging things. *trips out* |

The headchop in barbarian is such a classic, only moonstone came close in the decapitation area. To this day I still remember the panic later when mortal kombat was released for the snes. The moral bitches where about 4 year late and that was nothing when the religious fanatics saw doom for the first time
![]() hmm.. I think this deserves a new thread. |

Come on people!
I know some of you haven't voted cos it's a public vote and a lot of names are missing :-) Gotta give Freakyweakywoo the most comprehensive results you see. You don't see Les Dennis on Wheel of Fortune saying "We asked 19 people what you would most likely do with a ball of edam" do ya!?? Nope. It's 100 people! So get voting! We don't want an unrealistic result now do we?

I voted Arkanoid aswell, it was soooo close to the original, although there are some others I think were really good.
I even tweaked my monitor settings to stretch the screen as much as possible to fill the screen with just the game surface, not the hiscore or discovery software logo, just like the real arcade ![]() |

My choice was against Arkanoid and World Games (Winter Games events seems to me almost all identical).
World Games has a better graphics, but it's a bit tricky, expecially in some events, Arkanoid is very addictive (even now) and very close to the arcade counterpart! So, I voted for Arkanoid... |

I've gone with Amegas, for reasons I shall explain.
1 - It is one of the few game on the list I know. 2 - It is better than Arkanoid, and is more original in that it is original (OK a Arkanoid clone) but not just a arcade conversion. It looks better than Arkanoid too. 3 - It has some nice music. 4 - It was one of the first Amiga games I played (included in the TenStar Pack). 5 - I like the name better than Arkanoid. |

The only games I played on this list : Test drive and, er... maybe Barbarian. Test Drive was extremely bad, and Barbarian, yep I'm not certain... Maybe I never played it?
Then, I voted for "Strip poker data disk #4:Crystal & Dawn". Because I am a real man, with huge cojones. Looks like I'm the only one, too... ![]() [Edit] Is "Uninvited" related to this extremely shitty movie involving an evil mutant cat on a killing spree?

i've gone for test drive, because it is the one i know the better. i've never played that text games nor king quest and larry. i could have voted for arkanoid, but amegas, wich i haven't playied looks better. Llooking at hol, there are many i would like to know, and some i will try. king of chicago looks impressive and that shadowgate, city defence, garrison, powerplay too.

Just a post to put this back up the top of the list
We have 44 votes I think, it would be very very nice to get a round 50. I am running this for 1 month (from date of posting), in future I think 2 weeks is enough. A big thanks to everyone who has voted so far ![]() |

How did Sierra keep going for so long? There were [I hope it isn't 'are'] consistantly shit.
Stupid. EDIT: Unvited has nothing to do with any kind of cat. Also didn't the game save to the original floppy?

Police Quest, because that's one of my allt-time-favourite games ever. I could have gone with Leisure Suit Larry, because that one is also one of my all-time-favourites. But I went with PQ, because all in all it's a slightly better (and varied) game because of the realism that Jim Walls implemented.
