Remember that nintendo promo'd the Gamecube in lots of different colours and most of them never really happened.

that guy walking down the steps looks very foolish.

Still it does look nice more so than the DS

Yeah Anti but that's a MOCKUP, it will obviously not look like that.

The unit looks very nice, typical Sony design (me loves) and the UMD thing looks interesting as well (its got a caddy! long live old technology ). The size is a bit bigegr than we are accustomed to tbut that will be better for us adults who have hands cramped because of extended GBA/SP usage.

Also I wouldn;t wear it hanging on my deck like that asshole on the stairs, you'd get it nicked pretty easily!

Also, looks fragile. Specially the screen! I'm not a guy known for mistreating his hardware (actually I'm such a picky mofo about it, just ak Jim how I take care of my stuff :P) but it's an important factor nonetheless, accidents happen! (I did drop my gameboy a couple of times, i wonder how it still survives)

Shame that this will be so 3D oriented though ;(

Good point Akira...it better come with a clip on screen cover or something.
As you say, def a adult handheld what with its size.

And the 3d crap was a cert I hope itll be able to have decent emus on it eventually.

Looks very interesting, add some kind of wireless interface and people will give up the full sized consoles to play these in groups

It has a wireless interface..

BTW, all pictures shown here were rendered and not the physical hardware. (except perhaps the first one)

aye, what about those with people hanging onto PSPs. Methinks those are legit mockup units (however notice the screen on the girl's PSP, still a mockup of GrandTurismo)

The actual hardware is lurking around the show somewhere on the Sony stand. I'll seek it out tomorrow. It's pretty much a PS2 in a handheld unit.

BTW, I saw the Phantom console today. It's easy to be cynical about it, but they might actually be onto something. The design is quite nice and they have a really good combo keyboard/mouse thing. I was very cynical myself, but after seeing it in real life and talking to the Infinium people, I came away with a much higher opinion of it.

If he continues to walk like that, he will fall onto the guy sitting on the stairs and ... kaboom! PSP with broken screen!

Emulators... that would be cool but will require some "opening up" (figuratively speaking) of the hardware. Needs one of the Hong Kong companies to do their usual to allow us to get "homebrew" onto it. Apparently only one of the 2 CPUs is user programmable but it ought to be fast enough for ST emulation and the usual Megadrive/GBA emulators.

I wonder what PDA-like functions could get on there. If it has IR an IR keyboard could be used.

Sony would be wise to allow PDA like functions.
