For some strange reason it is indeed the 68060/50 version... only SystemInfo says otherwise... the chip on the device says 68060!

Well Ive had a fantastic day.. Went to Game and found that they are now trying to start a Retro section and are looking for old Megadrive/Snes/N64 consoles to fill it with - looks like everyone wants a slice of the Retro pie!

Anyway... for Xbox I got a superb game called 'Gun Metal' for 4-97 and then I got a Ps2 game for 1-99.(cant remember the name and I havent even got a Ps2!)

Anyway... earlier in the day at the local boot fair I got... A boxed N64 Goldeneye pack with ram expansion and 18!!! boxed mint condition games for 20 !!! (I now have 5 N64's, 2 ram expansions and 40 odd boxed mint condition N64 games

Then I was checking out a stall with general crap on it when I kicked a dirty bin liner on the floor under the table and out fell Zelda for the SNES!! The bin liner contained 19 unboxed (and v dirty) snes games which I got for 8!!! the games cleaned up well and all work fine - now all I have to do is find the store of spare manuals I have got in the garage and match some of them up with my new games..

I have to start going to boot fairs.
Any idea how I can find out if there are any good ones in Kent sometime soon?

There used are quite a few good ones in Kent, specifically around the Maidstone and Medway area. Look in your local free paper like KM Extra, Adscene, etc. I think there is probably quite a bit of retro stuff going. Unfortunately, I cannot get to them like I used too...

If you do find a good current one for Retro stuff, be sure to let me know!

I bought a C-128 and 1570 & MPS-801 lately, and got a full C64 system for free ( breadbox, 1541-C and monitor )
Also bought some A-500 lately for 5 to 8 Euro each.
Otherwise nothing new - no time, no money

This week....

Well I actually did a boot fair and got rid of some of my unwanted console duplicates and games....

Sold 5 N64's (which now leaves me with two machines and about 30 games.)

My gf did the searching for me this week and came back with....

A Dreamcast for 3
A Megadrive with 15 games for 5

and the rain held off until I was on the way back home.. so it was a good day overall.

My last aquisition was an A2000HD over a month ago, nice clean machine for all the old games. So whats more common in the UK these days, cheap amiga's or cheap consoles?

Cheap consoles... this year you cannot move for playstations and playstation games - mostly in terrible condition though.

I havent seen one retro computer at the boot fairs yet. Amiga's dont really go for anything at all at bootfairs any more. I took my Amiga A500 and had it up for 20 with some boxed games etc... but no-one even enquired about it.

Megadrive

I spotted a Megadrive in its official SEGA Carry case beside a rubbish bin!! Took it home, opened it up and it had 7 games in it and is fully working with all the bits..

*Note: Going through bins isnt something I do on a regular basis

Blimey!

I have been collecting for awhile now as BigByte will know..

I'm still after a few things that have slipped past me and wonder if its actually worth going to Bootfairs these days as the last 4-5 I went to late last year had more commercial stalls so it seemed pointless paying over the odds for some of this stuff..

perhaps I'm too late getting up?
