AmiTCP startnet in user-startup

I just installed and configured my 3com 3c589d (EtherLink III) card with AmiTCP, so hard part over and it took just a few mins!

I chose to run the "startnet" script from s:user-startup, except the window remains open in front of workbench and must be resized out of the way. Other than that it all seems to work nicely but it's kinda annoying. Is there a hack I can make to stop this?

This is a *wild* guess because I have never ran amiTCP, but....

Depending on where in the startup this file needs to be executed... you could of make an icon for it (with IconX as default tool, and NOWAIT as tooltype), and shove it in WBStartup.

This would bid the window farewell.. But you can only do this if you are able to start AmiTCP only after you loaded everything in startup sequence.

In which point of teh startup process have you put the "startnet" sentence? If you put it in user-startup, I think you can move it into WBStartup (then again, if it was stuck, you wouldn't be able to load workbench).

If you put it at the end of startup-sequence, did you remember to add ENDCLI after it?

Thanks! I commented the line in s:user-startup and used the IconX/WBStartup method. It still leaves the shell window open (EndCLI doesn't help) but at least I can close that one manually!

Hmm endcli SHOULD close it!

is this startnet thing a script? (ie you have to add a line like "execute startnet"?). If so, this line must have an ENDCLI command at the end.
