Search Engine: CAPITAL letters?
hey ho.
Correct me if I'm wrong but did you changed the search engine? If I search for a game and write in small letters the engine corrects me and state "game not found" but a similar entry - whose difference is only that the first letter is written in CAPITALS. e.g.: searching for "wizball" - says: only "Wizball" found and forwared automatically. But if searching for a game with multiple entries I have no problems to receive a listing. e.g. searching for "syndicate" brings me three listed games. Didn't you think it's easier to change the Search Engine (back) to case insensitivity ? so search result doesn't has to be forwarded...

Sorry cebulba, you're totally wrong about the case sensitivity...
Hint: Try searching wIzBaLl and sYnDiCaTe Case sensitivity has nothing to do with the results you see! If there are 3 versions of a game (ECS/AGA and CD32) it can't automatically forward you as how does it know which entry you want to view? |

Basically what is happening is that no matter how you type in a game name exactly (whatever the case), such as "Wizball" you always get a message saying...

Probably the text in there should be changed, or the redirection should be automatic. Why display that message if only one record has been found?

I suspect that the redirection is automatic, but is dependent on how one's browser is configured with regard to some feature (such as scripting). I performed a search a few days ago on HOL that resulted in a single hit and saw the same message, but was automatically redirected within a few seconds.

yep the actual redirection is with using the "refresh" meta tag with zero delay.

Capital letter don't have been changed, and you can still use both.

update
hey ho.
Well. I'm willing to learn here on informatics ...What I mean with "case sensitivity" - another example: While searching for "maniac manson" - no result is given. That's because entry is "Maniac Manson" and the search engine doesn't know how to deal with "small letters"...it has nothing to do with the "blank"... Also I think the redirection is not needed if the search script does accept both spelling "Wizball" and "wizball"... You know what I mean? ![]() |

The search is case insensitive.
The reason that you can't find Maniac Mansion is because you typed the name incorrectly. The name is "maniac mansion" not "maniac manson". The following searches all go to the same entry: Maniac Mansion MANIAC MANSION maniac mansion mAnIaC mAnSiOn |
