Well,
There is a little PD game called "Paranoids" ,
Which is a board game style and my fiance and i played
that game together hunderds and hundreds of times.

After just recently getting back into Miggy scene and emulation
we are playing it yet again on a daily basis.

You can find this game on "Assassins Game Collection Disk 065"

Which in turn can be foundHERE

I know it might seem crap at first but give it time and you'll see why a few drinks and this game makes for a great night.

It looks like this :-

Bi Planes, Master Blaster, Ork Attack (we would swap between levels) and Base Jumpers were always two player favourites of mine.

Happy memories

The Settlers (can't believe noone's mentioned it yet - Best. Game. Ever. And better with multiplayer)
Lotus 2
The Patrician (kind of like Ports of Call, only way better, especially in multiplayer)
Colonial Conquest II (PD - space strategy game)
Bloodwars 2.65 (PD - classic Warlords clone)

..There were a bunch of others, but these were probably the ones we played the most.

Definitely! Maybe I'm weird (well, you can probably remove the "maybe"), but I prefer the C64 version. It's perfect.

Anyone ever played The Settlers in 2 player mode?

I didn't have 2 mice, so I couldn't ever do it. But it always sounded interesting to me

But I wonder.. some matches of it lasted for 15-20 hours....

You would have to save, and then wait 'til your friend was at your place again to play it, huh?

The original Lemmings had a split screen 2 player mode. Each player had their own team of lemmings (which only they could control) and their own destination 'door'. The doors were usually placed at opposite ends of the level meaning that both players would interfere with other in order to save their lemmings while the opponents were 'accidentally' sabotaged

I don't know why other versions didn't include the 2 player mode - maybe because owning 2 'mice' back then was rare. PC owners missed out on this altogether. How sad

@kolorabi:
Yes, the C64 version of Bubble Bobble is great. But have you played it recently ? It is sooooooooo slow in comparison to other versions. Therefore I donīt play it anymore :-(

Have you ever tried the Sega Mastersystem version of bubble
bobble ? That one is great. It features 200! different levels and
itīs a very good conversion.

QuickMoney <--

I think it's a PD game (got it on a coverdisk), but it's the best two-player game I've played yet.

BiPlanes would be up there too...
