Hehe, I already started working on GBA version of the engine a few months ago, but didn't get very far back then. It is a really nice platform. With scaled down graphics, tracked music it would probably fit nicely on that... And maybe a bit less effects - lighting and shadows do require quite some processing power, but I think because of less resolution it would all work fine on GBA...

Hey! I've just seen this whilst flicking through mags in whsmiths.

It's in "Games" (at least I think that's what it's called) at the back, where they have a retro section and a huge screen cap of the head over heels remake. They also have some mini interviews as well as comments from the original author.

What's the deal tomcat?

Hmmm, so you haven't seen it yet. Get back to us once you have. Even better scan in those pages because I'm sure you'll buy the mag, if you can find it! Actually, they should be sending you a complimentary copy.

Thanx Bloodwych

I have seen the scans of the pages and they are nice indeed I will upload them and post a link once I get to work. Really surprised me that they gave away so much space for it (and other Retrospec games ofcourse). NICE

Thanks tomcat. much appreciated. What did you think of Ritmans comments? A little bit picky - I think he wanted those royalties he mentioned!

That might be the case, yep But 20% of 0 is still 0 ... ;-) Anyway, we exchanged some emails and he did say that there might be some commercial value (and therefore royalities for him) but the licensing (from Infogrames) would cost a lot and if they said NO then there would be a big chance they would say NO to being it freely distributed too...
Well, Graham and I were planning on a totally free release from the beginning on so this was not an option for us really...

It's a great free product. The graphics look so nice GamesTM felt the need to blow up that screen nice and large!

I guess the main thing you guys can take from this project is pride.

If only I had time. Mind though - I already did Bat-Man, it has all features in (this time even the Doors are inside the Walls in the rooms where that fits - like caves) and it plays like a charm, but noone in retrospec wants to do the graphics (since Graham did such a GREAT job it is hard to come close, and he is not interested in doing BatMan (oooer)). I am thinking of putting a request for graphician up on remakes.org ....
