bargains to be had

Bought a Star LC200 for a whole english pound last week with all the cables and spare ribbons. I know it's not the best printer in the world but is ideal for printing text with my Miggy and at a 1 it surely has to be a bargain. Also picked up a carrier bag full of original games and utilities for 2. However went carbooting this week and there wasn't any Amiga stuff anywhere

Anyone else had any bargains recently??????????

Does a boxed Epson stylus colour 440 for 5 count?

that reminds me, must nip up the road, someones left a HP inkjet on top of their dustbin, it looks lonely and in need of a home

Well, I bought an A-3000 with CD-Rom drive, grafic tablet and 1080 monitor for 100 Euro from a local online auction 3 weeks ago.
That was no real bargain ( although I think the price was ok - I have seen A-3000s go for more without any additional things ), but the really GREAT thing was that the seller had also sold an A-1000, and there was an A-1000 add-on, called GOLEM
This GOLEM is a third party product for the A-1000 which is an accelerator and memory expansion for up to 4MB ( or even 8MB ?? ). It is very hard to find !
But the seller thought it was something for the A-3000 and so I got the GOLEM and also an HD Floppy drive expansion for the A-1000

I paid a few bucks for an external drive a while ago. But the overall bulk of my c64/Amiga gear including 2 A1000s, 6 A500s, 2 A2000s, 6 c64s, 8 monitors, an A1200 , a A600 and a shit load of other gear didn't cost me a bloody thing. They were give aways or throw aways. Why some people will throw away working gear even if its old is beyond my understanding.

I got An A1200 in mint condition No Yellowing still had plastic over 1200 badge.

For 10.40 including postage off Ebay

inside the Amiga was a Seagate 420mb hd and 3.5" to 2.5" connector

All that was wrong with it was someone had bent pins to connectors (floppy & lights) Straightend them out and works perfect wooo!

Almost bid $65 on a A1200 with HD on eBay... but my wife said "we don't have the space, it's another thing to waste your money on..." etc etc
She's probably right... but I WANT ONE DAMMIT!

I got a few 486's for nothing, from work... they were going to throw them out. And a few OEM copies of Windows 95 B, still in their shrinkwrap.

I bought an A1200 with 33Mhz 040 board, 8mb SIMM, PC 230w PSU, an internal Eyetech Buffered IDE interface and 170mb Hdd... for the grand price of 20 uk pounds. Slightly dirty keyboard, and the case screws were missing, but otherwise in good working order.

Now I have two A1200s that work!

The solution is quite simple. Tell your wife you will sell the 486's on eBay for very very cheap. Then you can buy an A1200HD with the 486 fund. This way you will not have to actually spend any money on an A1200 with a hard drive. You will probably end up making a small profit. Plus you will keep your wife happy by making some room in your house by getting rid of those crappy waste-of-space 486's. A1200's take up very little space. That should keep both of you happy.

Good plan... probably won't work, but worth a try

The best solution to this is, like I always say, Sell your wife.

This brings the essential question in life. Why do women don't understand anything. They can fill the house with flowers and other useless stuff. But when you buy 1 more computer, hell breaks loose....

I got a bargain on Ebay the other week - a SX-1 expansion unit for 20!!!

Used the "Buy it Now" option. Seller couldnt test it, it works like a charm! Already added 8MB Fast Ram and a HD is on the way

Considering the SX32 retails at least 80 there and 130 on Eyetech new - a bargain methinks...although my CD has no taken a bizarre L shape...:suspiciou

which leads to my next question - should i buy a A4000 keyboard on Ebay for it or a pre A4k one on the AT Keyboard slot on the SX-1?

Or even try a AT keyboard on it? Or can even use a AT-PS2 adaptor and use a generic PC keyboard?

I also bought a CDTV recently (my Amiga collection is now complete ) but i read that the CDTV keyboard is different to the CD32/A4000 one.
