Lightbulb Compatibility Lists

Hi

I was wondering what happened to the compatibility lists that used to be around.. for example..... http://www.back2roots.org/Games/List/ (doesnt seem to work) and i searched google and had no luck there either. why have they disappeared?

I have 2 compat lists (tom-cat/alx and bobic) but these are from 1999. Is there a recent up-to-date list? Cheers

I hadn't been aware of that. But to a fair degree, a lot of games tend to run off the general settings,(improved with WinUAE revisions etc.). Not suggesting it's perfect, but if you're ever having troubles with a specific game, there's a lot of great guys like Walker,(& several others), who are pretty quick with coming up with a fix,or determining if its a bug/bad disk etc.,just post the problem here, it's what the forums are for!

The compatability list from Bobic (BTTR) will most likely now be completely out of date and although a lot of those configurations will still work there have been MANY improvements and features added to WinUAE over the past few months alone.

For example, the first time I have EVER been able to play Stardust and Superfrog with little to no glitches has been with recent builds. I'm sure the list goes on too.

But yeah, most basic configuration setups will run about 80-90% of the titles. Not perfect in some cases because of screen resolutions converted to the PC resolution, centering, sprites etc maybe out of wack but nothing serious.

Use the board if you need help on a specific title though.

Not sure how the actual config files will work. There's been some changes in the syntax of the config file as far as I can tell. Some values have been exchanged for others meaning that the settings will be off.

Now if you could read the intended config and re-make them to fit with the newer versions it would probably work a lot better.
