Raytracing demo

Does anyone remember a raytracing demo that had lots of spherical objects spinning round a room. I can't remember who did it or what it was called

Had great music too, it was by a european group I think it may of been Fairlight. If anyone knows what I iz on about please help! Where I could get it would be even better!

Celebrandil of Fairlight put ray-tracing in most of his demos.

from your description it is probably the "My Room" demo by Fairlight. If not, try "Animotion".

It was My Room! Yes I believe they did use raytracing in most of their demo's but I wasn't sure it was by Fairlight. Ten years is a long time and all after seeing so many demos and intros the memory starts mingling it all together! Thanks for help!

No problem.

I'm a big fan of Celebrandil. He created the first glenz vector as well.

He posts to the internet every now and again.

Does anyone know where I can get My Room? I have tried to search and the only one I have found is an .exe file that is useless from an American site!
Not unless someone knows what do with it but I sure don't! I is a PC newbie (only had it my PC for four months and have only used them before that at work). Found my Amiga much more user friendly!

Don't bother mentioning double-clicking on it as it is not a valid application!

Where's my room...

You can't use the amiga executable file you recently download directly on your PC. Operating System/hardware is not the same at all.
So you must use an emulator such as WinUAE, WinFellow etc... i guess you can easily find some info on this forum about how to use them.

BTW you can find more Celebrandil demos and much more at :
NOSTALGIA http://www.df.lth.se/~cato/nostalgia.html
There is also some link to WinUAE/WinFellow on this site.

Hope that help

Thanks, but that was the site where I got the myroom.exe from!

I do have Winuae and Winfellows and know just enough about them to get the majority of games I have to work. So a location of this demo that is in adf or any other Winuae/winfellow compatible format would be much appreciated! That demo was one of my favourites at the time and I need it bad

Sorry but I don't have all day to work this out! thanks for the piccy it brings back the memories!

Snce you say you have the needed knowledge... You just have to configure a partition on your emulated amiga inside of one of your directories on the PC. (that filesystem shiznit, not a hardfile)Throw the exe there, run WinUAE and execute the exe from there. will work a treat.

I tried running the demo but it just goes into Amiga dos and stays there! Not sure what I am doing wrong. An adf would be much appreciated! This is one reason why I hate PC's. I swore once that I would never buy one, but it seems that you have little choice these days as far as computers go! Amigas should of rained supreme and the mighty microsoft wouldn't be so bloody mighty and have a hold over the entire planet! Windows is so crap!

at the amigaDOS prompt, type the filename! just like in any dos/unixish shell

(like this:

> myroom.exe*ENTER*

that's all You surely have been spoiled by graphical interfaces, me mate!)

Happy

Thanx Akira! Havn't used a Dos operating system for about seven years or more! Too much game playing and the PC's at work all use windows! needed a bit of reminding!

The only problem it likes to bring up the old software failure - guru meditation! That's the first one I have had and brought back the memories! Have tried an A500 type setup on the Winuae but it just doesn't seem to like it. Any ideas about setup?
