Datormagazin cover scans

I spoke briefly about scanning my DMZ covers in another thread.

Now, I did some scanning the other day, and managed to do all Datormagazin covers from 1988. I have upped them to the zone if anyone is interested.

There are quite a few ads in the mags - but it is difficult to get decent scans from them due to the yellowing of the paper.

I've attached samples featuring Bananarama clonettes Lili & Sussie & the furry glamrock slut from Vixen. :eek

YEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!

DMz is a true CLASSIC. Oh I loved this magazine and I can clearly remember the feeling I had when I read every issue over and over again.

Those were the days...

And I remember a swedish mag called Attack... the first issue had Supremacy on the cover.

Hi! There is a guy that is about to create a web page with full scans of all issues of SHH/SHN and he is in need of help scanning issues. If anyone is interested in helping out they could reach him through his website.

Cool. But that will be a lot of work before its complete Hope you got the motivation and time for it.

BTW, just recently started to read the new DMZ that was relaunched some year ago. And it totally sucked. Very booring articles written with no sense of humor. I have a hard time imagine todays computer users are so interested in hardcore stuff like Delphi programing and SQL.

The old generation DMZ was actually written in a funny and good way. And thats why people today are interested in preserving those mags by scanning them. I dont think people in the future will be interesting in preserving and scanning the new generation DMZ, which in reality is just another boring PC mag.

Yeah, I'm having some problems with my connection at the moment. This happens every god-damn year when new students move in here. There is always someone with a broken modem that disturbs the others on the line (we are four apartments per 10MB line).

It seems to be a little better tiday, but not optimal.

BTW, I found a guy who had every number of DMZ, he also seems very interessted in scanning them.

I'll get back to you all on this one in a week or so... busy, busy

EDIT: hey Kada... why the heck do you have this on your site: http://karantan.fegis.nu/arkivet/bil...log=/Nazister/

..or the "oseriöst" section with racist tendencies? I'm not accusing, but It makes me wonder as you must realize.

Ah, ok. Sounds like a good project. A bit "alternative" if you compare it with lunarstorm (fjortisar).

I'm very interested in this, since I wrote programming columns from the MSX era to Amiga for them. But the site seems down (I get redirected to http://www.recycledsteel.co.uk/trooper/ of all places :P). Do you have his email??

Well, my DMZ scanning project has just begun (I'm the friend SpoUP mentioned in another thread ) and if anyone wants to check the work in progress, the scans can be found at ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/documents/...gia/dmz-scans/ .

Unlike other sites mentioned in these scanning discussions, Modland is not likely to disappear suddenly. So, having found only dead links when searching for DMZ scans, I decided that if it's to be done properly I better do it myself.

My goal is to have a complete archive of DMZ online forever. But I don't have all issues, specially not the ones from '86-'87. If someone would like to help out by sending me missing issues, mail me at coma@modland.com.

Soon. I'll write a list of what's there and what's not, and put that list in the dmz-scans dir, as soon as I've finished rummaging through my heaps of old magazines. What I know now to be missing is everything from 1986 and 1987 - but check back for a complete list.
