CD32 with IDE CDROM?

Is it possible to make an adapter, to allow the CD32 CDROM to be replaced with an IDE (or SCSI) one?
I want to make a front-loading CD32!
I've searched EAB & Google, and apart from the CD32 FAQ saying it's a custom controller, I haven't found anything else of use.
May not be possible, but I'm hopeful...

Everything's possible, however, I don't think it would be an easy task to mess around with the cd controller on a cd32. It's a custom controller designed to handle only the specific cd drive that comes with a cd32. I think you'd have a better chance using a SCSI drive than you would an IDE. Here's a few tech. schematics on the CD32 that might help you out.

Thanks for the link, gave me some more info I didn't have...

Anyone know what drives use the same Sony KSM-2101BAM internals as the CD32?
